Im getting a 2.2 ecotec rebuilt and i was wondering while they were at it what kind of mods they could do to it. I know a few exterior like cold air intake, turbo, supercharger but internally i dont know much. any help? Also what brands are good?
I heard a few systems in my day but the last couple years it seemed like systems are pretty much insane. Whatever you want dream it up and if you have the funds it can be reality. ill try to get it off but prob not possible. Ill for sure have to make it down for next year ill be done by then.
Wish i could but i have shit to buy for the system ya know. This hobbie isnt free although i wish it was and im the only one that works on sats where i work. Sats and suns are always my days to work m-f are a dime a doz whenever i want off i can get it. ohh well. If my cars done ill be there hell or high water lol.
Haha im learning too but an upgraded alternator never hurts from what i hear and audio batts. theres a formula i think that tells you how much amperage your amp takes at its peaks so you at least need that much power plus what the car needs more is usually better in this case. If your voltage is perfect then you could get a mla module to get more out of your amp also.
Im going to be running a sundown 2000d and a sundown 100.4 or simular and im getting a 275 amp alternator and some kinetics. I plan on going bigger down the road too tho.
Maybe someone can explain this to me but on my computer the "Posts In This Topic" section underneath the "Topic" to be discussed are all different then usual now i have to click on each individual post to read what people say know what i mean? I seen it awhile ago but now its back.
I always heard that upgrade alt, then go from there. The biggest alt you can find with a good output at idle. Once you see you have very little voltage drop you (can but dont have to) add a mla module that gives you another 1-1.5 volts to get more power out of your amps. I personally dont know much but this is just what i learned from asking a million ?'s. In your case id look for a 250 amp alt and a few group 31 batts to start. Dc power alts have great customer service and always willing to help with electrical ?'s. Hope this helps.
thats good to know about the alt putting out more then spec. I still want a ho alt though. I have plans of upgrading every year. 4 level 4 15's on 2 sundown 2000d's should be loud ehhh? lol. Hopefully it works out. For now just a 15 is better then none.
Ok i plan on just getting a 150 amp anl for stocker. Then when i get my 275 amp dc alt in ill swap it with a 300 amp anl. Depending on whether or not my voltage stays up around 14.** ill get a mla module and run it at 15.3 im guessing with the sundown 2000d and a crunch 1400 4 channel that upgraded alt will run the system just fine. When i can ill get a few kinetics also a 1400 upfront and undecided for rear batts. I hope to see 3000 rms at 1 ohm out of the sundown when done. Is that too much to hope for?
