  1. The amp will do rated in a perfect environment...However you must only be going for burps and not music if your box is tuned that high. Run it on 12v batteries, get an alternator, and plan to buy new subs or cones because I don't think those 3518s will like 5000 each very much
  2. 14v batteries charge at 16v and 16v batteries charge at 18v. I'd say stick with the upgraded alt and stick with the 12v XS Power line for your batteries.
  3. Not really going to work in the traditional sense of porting sealed off if your max width is 23 and the width of the subs is 24 side by side... The point of sealing off is to have the sub and port facing into the car sealed off from the airspace behind it. I'd say do a 4th order ported through the armrest for your best daily results, but it'll have to be a bit bigger volume. Do a 2:1 ported/sealed ratio and tune around 45-47hz
  4. Man I need to call Rusty if August is the case, the build I'm waiting on a sub for is for a friend and he's going back east in a few weeks to get back to school and I don't have the time to wait..
  5. I run my LVL4s with LVL5 parts at around 1750 rms each daily
  6. Dude I'm gonna be powering it with this bad boy
  7. If you know car audio then you know the legend and now I own one... Ladies and gentlemen I give you... THE FUNKY PUP
  8. Hey a friend of mine started up a small clothing company, if anyone's interested in some nice shirts at good prices and supporting a small company check them out, the promo code nepotism will give you a 10% discount too http://www.wtlclothing.com/store/
  9. If motors are done at the chromers like Rusty had said they were then it shouldn't be long at all. A week ago I got in recones so they have some coils and soft parts, and today I got an invoice for a sub I'm ordering so I think it can't be too far out...
  10. What'd you get??? Probably a shirt haha
  11. Haha Thor had me all confused, I also like the piece of wood through styrofoam that was through both the cones too!
  12. They were just chillin in the box...rusty was emailing me about something else and I asked him what those were and he said no clue probably just packing material
  13. Cool I'll be doing that tomorrow or thursday, the rings don't really fit over the coil at all so I'm thinking they might go between the dustcap and the coil former just cause they fit there? No idea, maybe someone can chime in that knows what they are for. Spider is a stitched double leaded stiff spider coils are D.7
  14. I now put tape over all the settings on an amp and even little pieces of tape on the knob where a screwdriver goes in. Then if any of that's missing their warranty is void
  15. There are 2 circles that came with my recone that I figured I'd find out where they went when I took apart my old ones, maybe that's what's different? here's a picture of them: Thanks, that's what I had thought
  16. Got some recones in today for my LVL4 12s, got the LVL5 soft parts and coils, I'm just double checking that the CA glue is for the spider and the rubber glue is for the surround and dustcap, correct?
  17. I remember seeing this stuff a few years ago and wanting some, I'd like to see second skin get back into the R&D, hell I live in Tucson a half hour from their HQ and will build boxes/anything they'd like to test it with for them if they want to try making it again
  18. I'm still not quite sure what you meant, that wiring diagram is for 3 DVC 2 ohm subs if you have 3 DVC 4 ohm subs it will never wire to 1.33
  19. No. The circuitry of an amplifier is built to put out X watts at X ohms at X voltage. The amp's gain is set with the volume up on the HU and when you are turning the volume knob on your deck you are adjusting the AC input voltage to the amplifier. The amplifier is multiplying the input AC signal to produce an output AC signal. As soon as you are over the RMS wattage on your amp chances are you are clipping the signal and damaging the equipment.
  20. Adding a short piece of wire will not make each sub 4 ohms...
  21. I'll be doing my first recone here soon too, it doesn't look that bad I heard the worst part is getting all the tinsels through the terminals, is that true? Looks like you did a good job though!
  22. I own a lot of (real) LV stuff but wouldn't put fake vinyl print in my car... Also not sure about coach/gucci but I know for a fact Louis Vuitton will NOT sell their leather to anyone at all so it's all fake.
  23. Maybe you'll be fine maybe ya won't it's up to you, and if you're doing it with OFC 1/0 fuse it with a 300A fuse if it's CCA 1/0 fuse it with 250A fuse.
  24. I put fuses on the big 3, it's just an extra safety precaution from the wire burning up. Have I ever popped one of those fuses? No. Would I still put them in? Yes.
  25. James has been dissing boxes for years now
