  1. Mine were 70.00 each. But it has been almost a decade since I have gotten one. LOL. Damn, I'm getting old!!!
  2. I hate to jack this thread but, it looks like the op isn't getting much help anyway. So, here goes. I am planning on running two sa-8s as well. I have played with some numbers on Torres calc. but possibly someone with more knowledge can steer me in the right direction before I start cutting wood. I plan on using two d-4s wired to one ohm. I have definitely have 12x12x39 that I can work with but, I can easily make it more or less. I would like it for daily music and hopefully it will be loud as well. It it matters I will be using a Soundstream TX1.1300d to power them. If anyone is interested in offering help/suggestions shoot me a PM. Now, back to your regularly scheduled SMD thread. Thanks OP!!
  3. Why does someone feel the need to post shit like that? Much props man, I dont usually like pt cruisers but saw yours on here a while ago and has me looking at them differently now definitely showing the potential they have, sick car man Thanks, one of the best parts of owning this car is it being something that you don't see cutomized all the time. It is fun to be at a show and watching people look at cars. " another s-10 (yawn), yep, another 1500 (yawn), eh, another Honda (yawn)" Then they see a PT sitting on the ground and they stop, take a closer look and say " I never liked PTs but this one is bad ass". I get the same thing just cruising or even going to the grocery store. Because it is different people take notice.
  4. I am going to try and relocate the bags behind the rear axle. This should be the beginning step of getting the rear to sit lower. I know the shocks are a limiting factor already so, they may get relocated also.
  5. As Louisiana Bass said no need for the first statement. What setup are you meaning? Air or stereo? Thanks for gettin' my back and for the props. That is the compliment that I hear most often. LOL Thanks The wheels are 17" and IIRC the tires are like 26" tall. I could go wth a bigger wheel and smaller sidewall but I drive this thing. The roads here suck and the exta side wall not only is a better ride but also offer a lil' protection to my wheels.
  6. I'm sorry about the one pic. I resized them all but that one is not cooperating. For those that haven't seen. This is the car I'm working on.
  7. I am in the process of getting my cruiser to sit slightly lower. I started working on the front this evening. I have had a problem of the pinch seam hitting the tire when completely aired out. This did two things, first it stopped the car from going any lower and second, it made it impossible to drive while really low. To remedy this I decided to cut and fold the pinch in order to give a little more clearance. Here is what I started with. Most of you don't see this on your cars. I have had the inner fender removed for quite some time. Next I made relief cuts in the seam. The cuts allowed me to hammer the metal back to give me a little more room. This work got me another 1/2" lower in the front. Before After Before After I didn't get to do the other side or get pics from the front because it got dark on me. Be sure to stay tuned for the completion of the front and to see what I have in store to lower the rear more.
  8. I have a 125 gal. reef tank. I would call it "steady" work. It is something that you have to monitor and take care of problems before they get out of hand.
  9. Hate to hear of a little one in need. hope he gets better soon.
  10. I always thought it is due to the length of the run and current draw. Kinda like the power wire for your system. You may have 1/0 power wire running from the front of your vehicle to the rear. Then from a distribution block to your amps. The smaller gauge wire can handle the current for a short distance, then resistance starts to effect performance and reliability. Someone with more knowledge/experience may correct me. ??
  11. Why don't you just use 2 of the subs you have now? Wire them down to 2 ohms, sell the other one or keep it as a spare??
  12. My dash used to have a glossy finish. The issue I had with it was the reflection it put on the winshield when the sun hit it just right. It was a PITA at times.
  13. I'm going to be in Lincolnton the weekend of the 30th. Is there a chance I could just pick mine up, if they are in?
  14. If the amp accepts 1/0, what about tinning the wire? The solder would hold the strands together.
  15. this what you want? http://www.darvex.com/store/pc/Sound-Quest-0-4-Gauge-Reducer-19p286.htm
  16. What frequency it is set will depend on what frequencies you want the sub to play. You want some overlap in the freq. the sub plays and the freq. the midbass speakers play.
  17. I forgot to mention. UPS tracking said the one I sent back was delivered yesterday. When I came home today the new one was waiting on my porch. So, either they sent it out as soon as I paid the difference between the two or they sent it next day air.
  18. While shopping around for my new Soundstream amps, I ran across an ebay seller with really good prices. Their seller name is carstereoneeds. Their feedback numbers looked good so I decided to try out one of the refurbed amps they had. When I received it, it looked like it was just pulled from someones car. I imediately contacted the seller and expressed my displeasure. Someone contacted me right back and asked ,"how could they make it right?" they offered to ship out a replacement, give a refund or send me a different product. I told them I thought the best decision for me was to get one of their NEW amps instead of a refurb. They sold it to for a good deal less than the advertised price to account for my trouble. They also covered the shipping to return the refurb amp back to them. I will definitely be checking with them when I am in the market for more gear.
  19. Also the same time the new SA-8 is expected. Coincidence???? I think not. I hope I can get my hands on both around that time!!
  20. Bostwick was the shiznit. Are they still around? I used to work for a shop in the early 90s. Bostwick was one of our big sellers.
