you may be right, just when i think about it it seems it should split the power between the two. I wish someone who knew more about xovers would chime in.

No, 100/2 =50 So you would send 50 to each driver in said setup. The same can be done with an amp that does 50x4. While the impedance doesnt change even though the woofer and tweeter are both 4 ohms and the reading at the amp is 4 ohms. The 100w you supplied isnt magically amplified into 200w by the xover. Now, for what you want, to give 100w to each tweet and mid, you would need an amp that puts out 200 x 2 at 4 ohms or 100 x 4 at 4 ohms. EDIT: Please feel free to correct me if im wrong, but i think im pretty right on this one.

keep in mind, if you change the port dimmensions, it changes the box's net volume. which also changes the tuning. So depending on the situation it can take a lil bit of time, and youve given the max dim the box can be and said its this big, thats not really doing anything. My lil sis could figure that part out.

sounds like your pretty much asking for someone to design the box for you. That usually costs some monies.

that makes no sense whatsoever. Tuning is tuning. you can tune any sized box to anything. I mean, you can tune a 10 in a 1 cube box to 33 or lower if you wanted to.

I have one FS in the FS section (new car, old system is gettin sold to pay for new system for new car). Great amp. its 900wRMS rated 1800w PEAK. It is a bit overrated. But for the money you cant go wrong. I got one FS if youre interested in it, only put it in this march, pulled it outta the old car about 2 months ago. (borrowed an old RF amp from a buddy for a lil while, and then sold the blazer). From what ive heard the amp doesnt necessarily like a 1 ohm load that much. 2 ohms is not a problem tho. It will make damn near 900w at 2 ohms.

Ive got a few drawings ive done for blazers. You can fit 4 15s or 2 18s. You will NOT be under the window line, but you can fit them. EX, 4 15s, 12 cubes, 30Hz 12 cubes is enough for 2 18s.

newls1 brought up a great point. Do not tune these that low. I sat in DOA sleepy's envoy, i wanna say his box is 10 cubes tuned to 38Hz for 2 HDC318s off 8kw RMS. It dropped LOW

Ok, but how much is too much. We need a number, some will say no to 1k but yes to 750. So what is your limit. We kinda need to figure out what youre willing to spend before we can give you the right suggestions.

Its within 50 miles, (wanna say like 20 miles) but the traffic sucks so badly it takes about 45, sometimes longer. I mean, it sucks that i have to drive an hour and a half round trip just to ask a few prices. I got the day off tomorrow, maybe ill do it then.

Just called my "local" shop (a good 45 min drive) and he appologized and said he cannot give quotes over the phone cuz DD said so. So now I have to spend an hour and a half of drive time just to get pricing. Wont even be able to get a listen to any of it, look at any of it, just see what it costs. The only thing i dont like about going through companies like DD, AA, Fi, DC, Sundown is never having a chance to listen to the equipment first. I didnt list AQ cuz ive heard numerous D.O.A. setups that were AQ subs and AQ amps. Atleast AQ, Sundown and Fi all list pricing on their website.

4 15s is more cone than 2 18s so if you ran the same power on both setups, 4 15s SHOULD be able to get the loudest. Also, you can put more power on 4 BTLs than 2 BTLs, so i say 4 15s

DD1508. I figured it was money that didnt need to be spent, just wanted to know if it was something id need or not.

My box was the same way, i had a screw every 2-3"....Now its titebond II, brad nails, and silicone. Ill be trying some resin on the next box.

Thanks guys, i think for the time being ill plan on just going with the regular cones with the CF dustcap. I dont imagine it too expensive of an upgrade. And i cant remember if when i called my local dealer if the price i was given was with or without them.

I was worried more about keeping it above where the amps will like the ohm load. Its going to be a daily driver. Im not makin a fart box, tho the port for the box i designed is HUGE. (going by the specs i was told worked best for a DD1508)

Wow, i overlooked that. But honestly, if it can make that kinda power at 11.9 that is very impressive. I may call my local shop and see what these cost. Decaf, the refurbed sundowns off db-r are only around $50 more than the AQ i think. I wasnt gunna go brand new with a SAZ-2000, thats a but expensive. Ill probably just get the AQ when the time comes.
