  1. dude just drop it. Its fine for where it is set now. My truck loves to be in the 14.9's to 15.4 when its cold but it goes to 14.45-14.66v once its warm. Its normal for alts to do this. There is no alternator on the market that does not change its voltage output with the temperature of the alternator.
  2. The vents for xs batteries are just underneath the label on the top of the battery. If they are venting they will start to push upwards and you will see a crack in the label on the battery. I highly doubt you have had this happen. Ive had my xs batts at over 15.4 when it was colder than 30 degrees outside. It stayed in that voltage for about 45 minutes of my drive and then went to 14.4 where it needed to be. Ive seen several people run at 15v flat with a 12v battery without any problems but it can shorten the life of your battery by doing so. I was thinking of getting an adjustable voltage module from mechman but as my truck never charges less than 14.45v i am just going to leave it as is.
  3. I too can vouch for the CC-1 being such a great tool to have. I received mine today and right when i got home from class today i went to my truck and setup my entire system again. I started with my DD-1 and noticed i was clipping a bit but not hard, just a slight tweak fixed it. I then went to my CC-1 and even using a RF 3sixty.2 the crossover points were still off by a ton. After i set it up with the CC-1 i played my music and i cannot believe how something simple and easy to use like the DD-1 and CC-1 can make your system really sound great. I am really impressed in the quality of the tool as well as the accuracy in it. My system just improved 10 fold for me.
  4. My tinsel leads did the same on my SMD. The sub never got hot and only bottomed out 2 times throughout the entire time i used it which was because the damn remote knob on my 3sixty.2 has problems where the volume will out of nowhere go full tilt and back to where i set the knob so im going to remove the knob when i reinstall the system in 2 years. It too burnt 2 leads (1 per coil) and was on its way to burning a 3rd lead but the sub quit out before it got too far into that. I know it was clipping a few times with how the bass would fluctuate with that bass knob so i admit it was user error with that god damn bass knob. Id recone it like im doing to my SMD and set your gains to a -5db or if you want the best a 0db tone and set the freq on the amp correctly. I am still learning other things that may have caused my leads to burn and break like they did but im sure clipping and those few times it bottomed out didnt help any.
  5. Its the presale price and I believe something like 12-17 bucks off extra. Just add the cost of the dd-1 and cc-1 and then subtract that value from the cost of the combo. The combo is cheaper than getting the two independently
  6. Steve can you also possibly get Tony and Juan to sign the dd-1 and cc-1 too? It would be awesome to have the three of you sign it. Again order 100001292. Thanks again bro.
  7. order 100001292, Ordered the dd-1 and cc-1. can you please sign both of them for me Steve? Thanks in advance!!
  8. Yes the song at 2:05 is E40 - My Shit Bang. i will guarantee it to you because i have all of e40's albums and i play that song a ton. lol.
  9. It will support it but keep a close eye on your voltage. I ran a 1400w rms amp that sucked well over 90 amps of power on its own. My voltage would go as low as 13.2 at full tilt so it wasnt too bad but its still not getting charged fully. If anything i usually recommend getting a new alternator first. Its the strongest but most expensive part of your electrical system. Without a good alt you can end up having a boat load of batteries to help with the poor charging system you may have and still get voltage drop. Not very efficient or effective to have 10 deep cycle batteries when you could just jump right to the alt and even keep the stock battery for a bit until you can afford a nice agm battery and run the system without major issues. Just dont be stupid and run the system with the car off without a good battery or two. I used a s3400 (same thing as the d3400 but with a heavier outside case made to hold up to the temperature under your hood from the engine) and i could hammer on that for hours before the voltage got to 12.3v and i turned the car back on for 5 mins to charge it back up to 13.2v and it was fine. I recommend the same thing to anyone else who needs electrical system upgrades and i tell them to do it like this. 1.) Perform the big-3 upgrade (1/0 from alt+ to battery +, 1/0 from a solid bolt on the engine (preferably the case of the alternator if you can get to it) to the - on your battery, 1/0 from the strut tower/frame of your vehicle to the - on your battery 2.) Upgrade the alternator and continue to utilize the wire you ran for the big-3 3.) If voltage is still an issue consider replacing the stock battery with something like the xs power s3400 or d3400 and if still needed another deep cycle agm battery. Typically for most systems including yours just doing step 1 and 2 will be way more than enough power to run the hell out of your system as long as your engine is on. Dont think about doing just step 1 and 2 but slamming on the radio with the car off.
  10. it isnt hard to do at all just like previously mentioned get all the tools you need for it and have knives on standby when the one you use gets dull. I did my enclosure differently though. Instead of felt carpet i used indoor/outdoor carpet (i just liked the look of it haha) and used indoor/outdoor glue that came in a 3 gallon container. I then put it on just like you would for linoleum flooring (my dad used to install carpets and flooring so he has all the tools) and put the glue on with a grooved spreader. Then i let it get somewhat tacky by letting it sit for about a minute. Lined up the carpet and pretty much rolled the box onto it. Then i used a carpet stretcher and roller to stretch the carpet nice and tightly around the box. Then used the roller to work in the glue into the fibers of the carpet. After it was nice and flat i took my pneumatic (electric works just as well too) and nailed the edges and made an x-pattern on each side to help hold the edge of the carpet together when i get to the next side and continue to stretch it out. The hardest part is really when you get to the seams and sides. I didnt watch the video but the easiest way around that is to take two pieces of the carpet and fold it one over the other very tightly. Then once its tight just take a new knife blade and cut through both pieces of the carpet. This will make a perfectly symmetric seam. Once its done slap some glue on there (or spray it on) and put the carpet down. It sounds like a lot but believe me once you do it its super easy. The biggest pain in the ass for me was getting the carpet to roll down inside my port. I couldnt figure it out so i just took some scrap pieces of carpet i had and glued them on in the corners of the port
  11. Just like Matt said. You have to set the gain on the amp so that its not clipping with the amp set to fullpass then you can adjust the x-over settings on the amp and any other devices after you know its not clipping.
  12. I want that cc-1 not even just for myself but plenty of other people who have no clue how to set the x-over settings on their products. Money is in hand please let us know when you are taking pre-orders. I would even send the money right now
  13. I watched my co-worker on Tuesday get the guy to walk on one knee and move just one foot to get the guy to move like .2 meters every key press. it took him up to the end of his shift to get to 100 meters between calls. lmao!! The first time i played it i got the guy to do a cartwheel backwards and i had him walking backwards like a champ but you can only go so far before you hit the concrete wall lol My record so far is 55.6m.
  14. Damn thats freaking badass. I bet the chicks love him in bed. lmfao!!
  15. Its not needed to get a sound processor UNLESS you want to get controls over your equalizer and x-over settings. Other than that its not like you need one without a doubt for your car. Just like Ray said a high-low adapter would be sufficient for your system as long as its a good adapter. I had a friend of mine on here with crappy adapters that had a TON of distortion on them and when he went from the high-low adapter to the audiocontrol he had no distortion.
  16. I havent used it but have seen reviews on people using it and knu wire is the best bang for the buck. Like their power wire its over spec for the actual gauge of the wire plus if you get the knu karma or kl3 wire, you will have extra sheeting over the wires that are run. Basically you have the normal positive and negative wires that have their sheeting on them throughout the wire AND you have a clear jacket over both pieces of the speaker wire so its an extra bit of protection to help from shorting out or cutting the wires. The kl3 would be the best thing you could run as it is OFC speaker cable but if you are like you said in the post the karma which is cca would be just as good. With my truck i have 14 gauge theinstallbay wire for all my mids and highs and its over sized with a pretty good jacket on it and its OFC as well. Plenty of people hate install bay wire but i got it for dirt cheap from a local shop and i checked the gauge of the wire before i bought it.
  17. Damn bro thats awesome!! Glad you are alright with only minor burns. Now it makes me wish i held onto the old batteries i had and toss them into a fire pit lol
  18. Ugly chicks lol. Sad thing is that it works too o.0. Yeah, I still haven't figured out why ladies are more attracted to "taken" guys... Quite simply put it like this. Women like to cheat. Ive been through it so many damn times with all of my ex's. But OP just play it cool, dont get weird around the ladies or act too different. Just be confident in yourself, look decent enough to not be an eye sore (lmao), be nice to the ladies unless they are a total bitch to you and ppl will see that and really like it. If you walk up to a chick and she doesnt look in the other direction or not at you when you are talking or have the "ooo look at that guy" facial expression then keep the convo going. If she does do that then try to get a convo going and if it doesnt work move onto the next one. Dont keep chasing the came chick because that comes off to be like a stalker and unless you have a crazy psycho on your hands they wont like that. Also one thing to keep in your mind as motivation is to think "i deserve that" and go after it. Dont give up just because one chick hurts you either, keep moving. Trust me i used to get all worked up when i broke up with my first 2 ex's but once you realize that there are bigger and better things out there you will move on and they will realize what you had that the other guys out there didnt and will run back begging for you.
  19. Hey bro. Just want to give you some advice that my co-worker gave me and its actually working. lmao. He advised me to play it like baseball and have your starting 5. Get one chick so that she is your main chick and if she screws up put her to the back of the line and take the next chick. When they realize you are doing that they will start to act right around you and toward you. Im only 20 and just started doing this and its working like a charm. Im like you in the aspect of always making people want to laugh. One thing that ppl say and is 100% true is that if you crack a lame joke and she laughs then the chick is digging you. Just dont limit yourself to just chase one chick and dont go stalker on them. Like what you really need to do and what my co-worker also told me is that most chicks like to have you wait a day before you text them. For example if a chick gave you her number and said to call/text her today, dont do that until tomorrow. It gives chicks the vibe that you arent the kind of guy who just jumps in and out of things in a flash. Im not sure how you start up a convo with your ladies but try to start up a convo to see what they like and talk about that. Dont be the pussy who says "do you like shopping" and talk about that, hell to the NOO on that one. lol. Just like ask them if they like doing something that you enjoy (i tend to not tell chicks about my system cuz tbh the word spreads like wildfire and ppl know mine is loud as hell and scares everyone so they dont want to get in the truck with me for the fear of it killing their ears. lmfao) But just play it out and play it cool with the ladies and you will get it. Plus remember women are like their own facebook. If you get one chick that you treat right or are great to the word will spread around like wild fire and all the gang will know. lol. And just a little tip from me, dont let them know you are doing this if you do it but see if the one girl you like has a fb that is somewhat public. DONT add her, just look up her profile and see what she likes and stuff and strike up a convo about it. And chicks LOVE confident men. Dont talk down about yourself or anybody for the matter. Even if you dont have it made in life dont make it seem like that but dont make yourself look like king shit.
  20. I did read that it was a power supply but it also said on the kinetik site that it was a battery charger too so i didnt know what would be the best way to wire that to my amp i want to run. And to carshateme, you still dont see what i mean by using a tiny toy battery charger to run the amp. Those toy chargers only made to trickle charge the battery they are intended for and will not put out more than a half to at the very most 1 amp of power to charge the battery. How will a 1 amp charger work for a 1400w rms amp? It wont, you will 100% blow that tiny ass transformer and overload the wire.
  21. No offense but how would a remote control car battery charger provide 80+ amps of current to power the amp? It may have the voltage but it damn sure does not have the amperage.
  22. The home amp would be wayy more expensive from what ive been looking at plus i used to run my old amps in my room and i thought they sounded so much better than home amps. As for power inverters those are mainly for dc>ac conversion not ac>dc which is what i need.
  23. Computer power supplies wont provide half enough amperage to run that amp. I had a 1000w psu for it and it kept tripping the protection circuit on it from overloading it. Im over the computer power supply crap as they arent powerful enough plus they are always at 12v, thats not enough voltage, i need to have it in the 14's to keep the battery good.
  24. Mods: please forgive me if this is the wrong section. I figured it would be geared more toward electrical as its pertaining a battery charger in which you normally would use for your vehicle Anyways i have a project i am working on to get my two 12" kicker cvx subs in my bedroom and run them off my old precision power pc2350 amp that was originally used for the stock cvx's when they were installed on my old car. Im not sure what the normal amperage load of that amp is but i would say its probably like 90-120 amps. I was talking with CJ18 on here and he brought up the idea to buy a Kinetik KIPS12-80 (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_34482_Kinetik-KIPS12-80.html) to run the amp off of but im wondering if that can take the constant load of the amp. I was thinking to get that charger and connect it to the amp directly but thought that it might be bad as the amp would be surging the hell out of that power supply and i could burn it or the amp out. Then i was thinking maybe to get the charger and a tiny xs power battery like a d545 or maybe something else that is a sealed AGM battery that i could buy fairly cheap from on here and run that to the amp and have the charger act like the alternator and help keep the voltage up. Would this work or would i burn that unit out quick?
  25. Thanks for the tip ill shut off the vertical sync on mine later today. I know this is obvious but did you clean the heatsinks on your processor and gpu? It kinda sounds like its overheating somewhere and is causing the lagging since it works fine for a few seconds and then starts lagging. And are these games that you are playing mainly LAN games or can you play like a single player mode on your local machine? If its a LAN game maybe your nic speed isn't working at its peak. Try to manually set the nic speed as high as your network can support (100mbps full or 1000mbps full) and I'd also try what everyone else said to install all the new drivers for it on all the hardware and see how it works otherwise maybe try a new graphics card.
