As far as I know the only HUs that have problems with the bad grounds on the RCAs are Pioneers since they use a diode on the ground. If he has a Pioneer head, thats the problem. My car used to do the same thing. Wrap some bare uninsulated wire around the RCAs on the back of the head and use one of the screws to ground them. Problem solved.

Sundown SAZ-1000D is around $350 and is a solid amp. I love mine.

Id say you got screwed on the box. Id say start from scratch and build your own. The enclosure is a huge part of your output.

Im still eligible for Street Stock for now so Im curious what you guys have seen out of this class. I hit a 139.7 last time with my Type-R and I know I can hit higher with the new gear. Im shooting for 145 but idk if thats do-able. Im running an SAZ-1000D and a Sundown Z15. Since the car can be running im sitting at 14.65 warm charging at the amp. I think whats going to kill me is the music only rule.

So should I just axe the door speakers and run the kicks by themselves? I would get some door speakers to match the kicks but apparently the ones Im getting are discontinued..............

Im Brian. I started out learning audio on the J-Body forums with Lanman31337, n8ball2012, Stephen and probabaly some other members from here. Dont remember how I found this place anymore. I go by TheSundownFire due to the fact that I run a Sundown Amp and Sundown sub. And the Fire because I drive a Sunfire. I finally just started posting here since Im actually confident enough in my audio abilities.

Ive always been told to not mix brands and sizes of subwoofers due to the inconsistencies in the way they produce sounds which causes destructive waves and so on. So how come I see people mixing sizes of speakers in the front stage, such as 5.25" speakers and 6.5" speakers reproducing the same frequency ranges. So why isnt it bad to do this? It seems like this would be the same problem as with subs and would have the same theory behind it. Im curious because I have 6.5s in the doors of my Sunfire (custom baffles of course) and Im waiting for a set of kick panels with some 6.5s to get here.

Im in Ohio. I plan on trying to get into some shows and comps this summer. Im usually pretty busy with school and work right now so I wouldnt be much help with a team. I pretty much have a baby system compared to most of you. SAZ-1000D and Sundown Z15.

I honestly thought that was a picture of my sub for a second. My gashes are deeper than that. They happened in mid June and Ive been running the sub hard everyday and I have no ripping or anything in the surround. You should be fine.

I work at the Kroger in my town. I came in one day on my day off. I drove past the front with it up. Playing some Hurricane Chris or something. So I park go in and the lady at the door goes "You work here dont you?" I said ya. "You drive that little red car right?" I said ya. Theres no letters on the 244 like you said there would be.

I was sitting in the McDs drivethru waiting for my food. Some punk behind me starting yelling shit about how his car was louder than mine (I live in a small town. My car is known.) So I crank up Lollipop and about 2 minutes later. A lady sticks her head out of the window and yells at me. I turn it down. She pulls he head back in. I turn it back up. She sticks her head out again and yells. So I turned it down and got up to the window. My Gf who was working window was laughing her ass off. I took my food and left. I have also pissed off a local audio shop owner because I knew more than he did. I guess people get offended by a high school kid knowing more about their business than they do.

Long story short I ended up with a 2 pin AD244 off an 05 Tahoe rather than a 4 pin off an 04. Jeffrey (Lanman31337) has me pretty much set up on how to wire it up. But I just wanted some more input. My Sunfire only has 2 wires, the center 2 on the 4 pin harness. So is it as simple as getting the 2 pin pigtail and soldering it to the stock wires? Or is there more to it? It just seems like there has to be. I can get a prewired harness that has the 4 pin female wired to the male 2 pin but its $65 dollars and Id rather wire it myself instead of paying that.

Feel like Ive seen this before. If you have an Eco it says Ecotec on the IDI cover. If its a 98-2002 2200 it says 2200 on the intake and if its a 97 or older 2.2 i doesnt really say.

You running your stock alt? If you are your alt may not be keeping up with charging both batteries especially with the draw of the system on the rear one.

^^^This. Even if your bro had them set right for his car you still have to adjust the gains based on your source voltage.
