Get that shit off your mirror! Every single girls car I've ever been in (and I've been in many has ten pounds of shit hangin from their mirrors. Its annoying! But otherwise, not a big fan of JL but looks like it beats pretty good. Very nice! -

Hey, thats what happens when you sit and drink for a LONGGGGG ass time. Someone should have been nice and pulled his car around so he could drive home and sleep. -

I say there fucking junk. Be sure to get the squaretrade warranty But for less than $30 a pair, might as well try em. Let us know how fast they blew. -

One DC LVL 5 10" off the SD12k Come on its DC, I bet its possible -
Location is a big part of it too. There is no chance in hell I will ever get a sponsorship no matter how vast my knowledge of car audio or how great my build skills are. There's just not enough shows or popularity where I live. You'd have to live in florida, cali, the carolinas or to the east of chicago to even have a chance, really. Unless you like to travel a lot, and then you gotta think is it worth the money you save on equipment to drive all over the place just to maintain sponsorship. Its just not as much of a money saver as you think, its just nice to have.

level 4XL 18's. 6th order box!
cc_audio replied to GoreMasterCustomAudio's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
If i had to guess, I'd say they are rated for like 150W max a piece. There not really subwoofers, these babies were before subwoofers were even popular, before funky pups even I believe. Notice they're called separates. They couldn't handle much, but the ones I have have been bottomed out hundreds of times and still work with a perfect 4 ohm impedence. I think maybe the magnets need to be remagnetized because they are the softest woofers I've ever pushed on, almost no stiffness at all. I keep them around just incase I wanted to rebuild them down the road, they have a lot of memories. There is a crack running all the way around both of my woofers surrounds, it hasn't gone all the way through yet, but I bet they are one more enclosure away from blowing out. Kicker at its best. The first amp these were run with was a Punch 45 (first gen) which I still have. Both the amp and the subs were bought new. -

Thems the ones. Man they are old, I have two 10 inch stillwater separates that my dad bought new before I was born. They've been run off so many different amps and still going strong. I should find them. Surround is a little crunchy though. I should call kicker and see if they can recone them. Haha! Good luck with the build. BTW a shop vac on the dustcap and a blast with the air compressor up the pole piece will undent that. I've used it on many home audio woofers. -

Those were the first subs I've ever installed. Those stillwater seperates, right? I wanna see more pics of the kickers. -
You redneck! Chuck it out dat dar winder dere.

But does it work. I have bought countless amps and subs from garage sales and goodwill. Throw that thing on a battery or a power supply and tell us if it works. I have been let down on a $2 purchase several times.

I'm only 19 and most of those apply to me believe it or not. Technology has really exploded during my lifetime, and 19 years isn't that long. Not to mention my family had zero money while I was growing up. We had a computer, but that slow piece of shit was never used. The coolest thing I got was a portable CD player when I was ten, it had 5second anti-skip, kick ass. But a breeze would still make it skip. We stole wood everyday for a tree fort and caught animals like turtles and snakes for fun. Thats all I remember as a kid, until Jr High. Amazing if you stop and think about it. I used to give my grandma a hard time for not knowing how to work a VCR, imagine trying to explain to her a PS3.

I would like to get the original basket back on this bitch since I just cracked my current basket. It looks like a T3 basket. And yes it does have a 4" coil. Don't let the magnet fool you, this is an 18" and I want to keep it an 18". The GZPW 15" and 18" have the same size motor. GZPW woofer is supposed to have some kind of crazy unique coil that allowed it handle 5k rms. I don't need a GZPW coil but I need it to atleast handle my RF T4k when I get it back with a final impedence of 1ohm.

Very fast shipping. We even discussed doing cheapest shipping and it still showed up two days later. Haha. Great guy here. Very trustworthy.

I have road rage
cc_audio replied to alphasig293's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
I road tripped to South Carolina this spring to visit my navy buddy. Indiana was great, the speed limit was 70 so I was doing about 85 on crusie control the whole way. EXCEPT since its so flat there are semis EVERYWHERE and they like drag race each other doing 10 under the speed limit, side by side. I had to slow down to 60mph for semis passing semis a thousand times. And it took like three minutes for one semi to pass the other semi. Useless. I just wanted to set the cruise all the way through that boring flat state but NO, fucking semi drivers. -
Make sure that Z1 is the Z1a (second Generation). I had a first gen and it was really reliable BUT it had already been repaired. The first gens are notorious for failing. Great amps, but definatley get the Z1a, they don't have any problems really. If you do buy first gen make sure it has already been repaired atleast.
