I don't know if I would call it indecisive so much as I would call it lazy. I know how big a pain it is making a wall pretty. I DO know that this build has remained relatively the same as far as the enclosure goes, so that tells me you are happy with the way it performs. What I'm trying to say is get to work and make it pretty for the ladies.

Seems like they treated you very well, since they worked so well and did exactly what you wanted just recone them and put them back. Maybe up the softparts a little in case you add more powa but otherwise what I'd rather like to see a pretty face on that wall. I know its been sitting raw for quite sometime. Be sure to keep us posted with updates.

You got the old TSNS or the new TSNS motors? If you have the old ones I may be interested when I get back. Always wanted 4 of these but could never find them when I wanted them.

The Solo X motors are beasts and make some monster subs. But only Dave at PSI has the coils to build them. Linky I was selling my two TSNS motors for a while for $425 shipped, but I'm not in the states to ship them.

I like to think innovation costs money, you want Rusty to put out a bigger better product year after year? Well first you'll have to buy his current product at a little higher cost. I just hope Rusty never stops climbing to the top. Rockford got there and said, hmm... Lets just focus on profits and reliability. We'll innovate when profits start to fall.

Sorry brah, but most of that is not surface rust. ALL of the typical areas seem to be rusted right through, that car must've been driven a lot of miles on salty roads with no in between baths. Might as well scrap it the moment and expensive part fails. That car is done and not worth the cost or effort to repair. That would be a drive as-is car.

Pull the sub and take a look. If none of the spiders are torn free air it on low power. If its coil rub it will be very obvious when you take it out of the box and listen. If there's no noise free air, then check your box for cracks or leaks. If your box looks to be solid, then it may be an amp signal issue.

That sub is going to be better than it ever was.

I agree, paper cone = BOOB! The aluminum cap would look dumb IMO. Great sub you have there, Ken can make some damn good subs and recones. I've done business with him several times, you won't be disappointed. And your missing two screws btw. I could make you a box design, but not for free. But seriously, I'm on vaca right now. Hit up RAMdesigns, he does just as good of work if not better. I've seen him whip up some very nice and easy to read designs for not a lot of money.

I would run the 18's. But I have a thing for 18s. Once you go 18s, you don't go back. You just keep adding more 18s. Not to mention, I'm a cheap ass so I'm all for the cheaper option. The 18's will probably have similar motor force as well being bigger drivers. (not as much but close) Do the 18s mate!

The cars do run pretty small around here, haven't seen a full size pickup of any kind here. But there are plenty of cars running around you could fit that equipment into. Got pics of the ride? Would be cool to see a blow through in one of these things that are everywhere here down under. I had never seen one til I got here, and there's several companies making them too.

Previous trunk install in that Cutlass was amateur at best, and those little ports were major fail. Hoping to see a nicer job with the new equipment.
