  1. lol ya i have not seen many tests with the SMD against other subs but the one i do know about, the XL beat the SMD. it also beat the BTL
  2. dude... the XL is louder than the SMD
  3. there would be no point to that. the crossover will do what you want. i hear those bass blockers are prone to failing anyway.
  4. your in reno, stop by and see for yourself
  5. i got to see all the prototypes in the shop last weekend. beefy looking subs for sure. on a side note, rusty is making a lot of other upgrades to other subs as well. good enough upgrades to make me want to sell my xl's and buy new ones lol.
  6. hahaha, i love how the other guys check in with each other "peed on her?"
  7. haha, talk about a broken record "im pressing charges, im pressing charges" "you that same dude that raped me!"
  8. i am not a kicker guy but i hear they dont like 1ohm. could be wrong, just what i heard.
  9. im just sayin... i smell fail... and i dont think im the only one.
  10. well dont let them bottom out! lol. you dont want to break the things do you?
  11. people get way too much shit for trying to help. no wonder most of the veterans dont do it.
  12. maybe YOU arnt listening. you tried other alts then stepped up to a 250amp alt. the more amperage the alt, the harder it is to turn. then bam, belt slip. what do you think could make black rubber come out of the alt??? its was the belt dude. these guys are right. they arnt "trying" to look smart, they know what they are talking about. you just bashed a company that did everything right. sorry you dont like that you are wrong but we all are wrong some times.
  13. if the HU has a HPF, or high pass filter, then you just need to turn that up. 80-100 should do it. if the HU doesnt have one (it sucks) the amp will. you set the HPF so the speakers dont get the low frequencies that the speakers cant handle. damn ninjas.
  14. your building a box like this right? add those 45*s to keep the turbulence down when when the air meets in the port.
  15. lol well that goes completely against the "its free" part
  16. same power. pretty sure it was the same box. could be wrong though.
  17. 34hz is perfectly fine. itll play down to 30hz ok. i almost had the same problem with a friends car. luckily we only had to take out the speakers in the rear deck and it slid in.
  18. dont make one of those. if one wire from that bus bar shorts out it will burn up well before the bank of fuses will blow. that pic is basically a 1000amp fuse. itll outlast a run of 1/0 easily.
  19. im going through the exact same thing with crescendo. hope you get your amp soon
  20. DC XL with a sundown 3k. they are selling some used ones for 500 shipped. or wait until the end of the month and get a new crescendo 3k for $550. for SPL, one subs with a lot of power is easier to get loud with.
  21. the one 18". ive seen those amps turn off when ran at 1ohm though.
  22. i would hope it has 2/0awg inputs... now 1100amps still seems like a stretch but the wire will be able to handle a lot more current in the 2 feet from battery to amp.
  23. you cant tune the knob to be a gain. its either one or another. what you can do is set the gain WITH A DMM, with the bass boost all the way up. then all you can do is cut back the signal instead of adding and clipping
  24. but you only have one 1500 correct? why would i be talking about what you can do with 2 amps if you only have one? you know about clipping but dont know how to NOT clip? i blew 2 speakers from about 10 seconds of clipping so its not weird at all that they got hot fast. no do what i said in my 1st post before you burn up your new system.
  25. good point. that is a mono block amp. you cant bridge it. more proof that you need to read more and stop guessing.
