  1. eh, fuck it. guess itll be all work and no play.
  2. interested in saz-1500s? selling my pair. they can do damn close to 2k
  3. i have two sundown saz-1500s for sale
  4. i agree i think there is a sticky here with testing on the 3k.
  5. im glad your pleased, now go to bed, your questions are keeping me awake
  6. what was the sub level on the deck at? on alpines if it isnt all the way up then its taking away signal. so 15 is really like 0 and 0 is -15. i forgot to mention, when you do your mids/highs use the lowest tone you want them to play. if you set it at 1khz you will see clipping around 300hz and below. maybe sooner. i have a video showing this on the scope. eighty-100hz would be a good tone to use.
  7. i think the DC XL will take that amp. save you some money too. just as long as you know what your doing.
  8. yep, HU's clip too. i think alpines start to clip around 27 but thats off memory of what some one else said. ive never tested them. sounds like you have a scope so just plug the rca into the scope and test it too.
  9. also remember that if you shoot him but dont kill him, he can sue you... and win.
  10. do they have anything worth hearing? shops around here suck.
  11. those would be the MOSFETs. DB-r and Zed are the only amp repair places i know of. zed is closer to you, i think.
  12. so he's supposed to have 6000w with only two 800's to back it up? or he is seeing 9v. and if he was doing 150db it wouldnt be "decently loud" it would be chaotic inside. what are you willing to do? do you want to wall your car? or would you rather just get the SUV? do you want big woofers, small woofers, tons of woofers? for your car, a wall with two AQ HDC 15"s, one crescendo 3k, two deka intimidator g31s will put you at about $1500. the rest can go to wires, wood, etc. should do the trick. i would expect 148db out of that pretty easily. if you want to spend more do the same thing but use DC XL 15"s and two 3ks. that should do a 150 easy.
  13. x2. you cant really see any damaged parts in those pics. you can always ask DB-r.com
  14. 1 coat is all you need. just a quart of resin (itll come with hardener), a mixing cup, some paint stirring sticks (free at home depot), and either a couple paint brushes or cheap rollers. you wont be able to use them again so cheap is the key. that should be all you need. if you do try a second coat, do it before the 1st drys. if you dont, you will need to sand the 1st coat or the second could start to flake off over time. auto parts stores sell resin that takes a couple hours to dry and home depot resin takes 5-10min. get the long dry one.
  15. drywall screws arnt made for this type of thing. deck screws will hold the best. my team mate uses 1" deck screws to hold in 6 18"s in a wall doing 160db. never broke or stripped one.
  16. it didnt actually "just happen" right? it started after you made your amps stay on all the time. its the LOC just like i said before you even told us you had one. its nothing wrong either, thats just what they do.
  17. fill it with something, like packing peanuts, that you can measure.
  18. haha it reminds me of that stack of money in the insurance commercial.
  19. that jumper isnt staying on that coil is it?
