  1. I know how you feel. I only know one guy from the forum & hes on a team. There are only 2 teams in my town & they are competing shops. I want an independent team.
  2. So how can I charge them at that voltage? Is a box charger going to have an output that high?
  3. Well thats what they were at when I got them. My batteries charge at 13.7-13.9. I have both batteries hooked up now & when my subs hit im dropping to 10.5, thats the lowest its gone. I need a new alt.
  4. I always fix my truck myself, lol iv only failed once or twice. it wasnt anything big though.
  5. I got it bc I needed a long run of wire 7 & the flex was twice the price. I used flex to connect the batteries & also ran it into the cab, it is awesome wire without a doubt.
  6. Yeah, it was dropping into the 8's. Sorry, thanks for moving. I didnt really ground it to the bed, more like I used a bolt to transfer the ground through the bed, on the backside of the bolt I have a ground strap. I should have taken a pic but didnt. Only one battery is hooked up right now, & its helping bc my voltage doesnt go below 10 now but stinger says 1 of these can support 3400 watts. I only have 4400 watts rms @ 14.4 volts. so I probably have 3000 watts maybe. Idk.
  7. I go to community college at night, my books for this semester were $540 2 of the 4 books had to be bought in "combo packs" its stupid how much they charge for something you are going to sell in 15 weeks. I go from 7-9:45 3 days a week for now, my 4th class starts in october. but I take my computer to class and use the wi-fi to chill on here & then when I get home I get back on lol. Gotta stay up on current SMD threads.
  8. Yeah the batteries sit at 12.4 & 12.7 when I got them. The alt is stock for a while until I get a job agian, & the wire is knukoncepts KLMX 1/0. Heres a picture, but a few things have changed I ditched the ground block & bolted the grounds to the bed, on the bottom side of the bed I added a ground strap fromthe same bolt to the frame, so my batteries are indirectly grounded to the frame. Big 3 isnt done in this pic but you can see that I did it.
  9. So Iv been working on my install for a while & I finally added 2 spare batteries in my truck got it all wired up & when the subs hit my stinger voltage meter just reads "lo" & my lights still dim like crazy. This is my first time adding batteries to a setup. Any Help?
  10. man it has rained every day forthe last week at my house. today I was out in the driveway pulling a new power wire when it started to rain & i was like screw this. like 3 hours later I got fed up & had to make room in the garage to finish, naturally thats when it stopped.
  11. Thanks man, not sure if it matters but the housing isnt the factory one. & the lights I have came from ebay so I dont know exactly where to find a picture or any specs. but any help is greatly appreciated.
  12. If all the gear was sold and there were no more pics or vids that would be an epic fail.
  13. Iv been seeing a lot of the pink hid's around my town lately as well. but they are all hondas. I was talking to a guy with the same lights as me (projector w/halos), we both have s-10's & he said he looked into hid kits but our housings wernt rated for them temp of the hid bulbs. Does anybody know about this?
  14. I got lucky, Im getting my business degree at a local college so I can live at home. I take night classes so I still work full time which means I can feed my SPL addiction & chill on here while I should be paying attention in class. Good luck though mang. Electrical engineering=lots of work.
  15. I could be wrong but doesnt it all depend on the ohm load & resistance in the wire from the battery to the amp? my amps have 3-40 amp fuses, but I have them running on 60 amp ANL's. sure the anl fuses are warped & discolored because of the strain they are under but they hold in competitions. Its all about your setup. Just get some anl fuses & try them.
  16. Im a tractor puller. Not on the scale you guys are talking but iv been doing it for 11 years. This is my tractor, me, my dad, my brother & a friend of my dads built the whole thing in 3 months. 1000cc yamaha btw.
  17. I saw a blowthrough in an escalade at a car show that looked identical to that but it had 2 RF t2's with sliding amp racks in the back on each side of a pretty good sized flat screen. Install looked good but it was on some gaudy wheels, with lambo doors (fail in my opinion) & a really awkward looking body kit.
  18. I know ported and bandpass are louder, I just dont have room for such a box as of now... Im only doing 140 decibels but thats with my voltage going into the 8's.
  19. Iv got a sealed box right now & it WANGS!!!!!!!!!! but I think its bc I have 4 12" subs in it with a lot of power.
  20. Im not trying to be mean but it seems like a lot of people struggle with the whole interference thing. hell, I have interference somedays & I have all my cables seperated as they should be.
  21. ^^^ The 808 album? I have it, i only like a few tracks but its pretty good. Doesnt have a lot of real low hits like I need for my truck though. Im gonna try "burnin up" by young jeezy for drive-by SPL.
  22. A bigger amp than what? my amps claim 2200 RMS but its realistically about 1500
