exactly lmao, dude didnt even say a word after the demo sooo idk... he told me before i gave him the demo that he was doing a build in a surburban behind the third row seat,1 kicker warhorse, 4 orion hcca 15's... but behind 3rd row seat?!?! 4 15's behind 3rd row??? I dont think that it would fit. Or be one tight fit. To me that guy had to expression during the demo. And when he looked at the subs. It was kinda like he was like thats it or something. Nice build ya have. Could totally fit 4 15's behind third row in a burban. With room to spare! Nice build though man! Those Monsters will be the death or me. I drink like 4 a day. -
5901 LED Light
JasonJones replied to draper's topic in Security Center - Car/Home Alarms, devices, tactics, tips....
so its like the pic that kranny posted? alright, there will infact be 3 diffrent plugs pluged into the brain right now, atenna/valet/led, the valet is gray and black, the led is red and blue, the red and blue is what you want to unplug from the brain, so you need to find where they mounted the brain, and like i said the led and valet plugs are on the right side of the brain if your looking at it with the viper logo staring at your face (upright and such) if im wrong its on the other side, if you cant see the wire colors themselfs if i remember correctly the plug itself is BLUE on the led, so just unhook that You sure broseph? My 5901(has a different looking antenna than the one in the pic) is a single plug connection. Red, Blue, Black going to the antenna. -

You won't be able to just "cut" a wire to disable that. It's a three wire harness and all are utilized by the antenna. All the ideas mentioned are pretty much your only solution. Open it on up and just clip the solder point for the LED is your best bet aside from sharpie/tape or the pick idea. -

Small pick and medium force = bye bye LED -
Scion and some other manufacturers have RCA outs on the stock H/U now. IMO those things aren't really a big deal, soon HDMI connections will be the future.

If this is your passion do it to it man. The basic cert is really good at learning the entry level concepts of Ohms law, Kirchoffs etc. if you take the test I recommend learning your fuse types top to bottom because it WILL ask you every type. Also ask for the dry erase board they should give you... The person supervising my tests never gave me one so who knows it I screwed up some math. GL!

So I'm looking into getting a new truck(currently have an 01 Expedition). I am really loving everything about the new style Suburbans and can find 07-08's relatively cheap and want to know what everyone's thoughts are on it. 1) I know it is a gas guzzler but it will definitely get better mileage than I do now(10.2MPG). 2) I have also heard things about it burning through oil, has anyone had this or heard of it? Also please post if you think there are other similar options with seating for 5 and enough room for a good system. Thanks!

Do the big 3 my friend. How old is the battery you're currently using? -
Of course under perfect conditions I 100% agree with that, but as I said I am just hesitant in his setup to loose the midbass from the extra cone area. If you could get a good seal on a pair of 6.5" then it'd probably not make a difference. But in that truck the door window actuator is so close to the inner panel and you don't have much room between the inner panel and actual door panel to fab a good conversion plate. To solve all problems, build pods with 6.5"! Lol

How much power are you going to be running to these subs? And I'm by no means a box design master but I'm getting 5.51cft before displacement. Of course that's not considering what you're using for wood/bracing etc. Also I believe displacement of the driver and ports would consume more volume that 1/2 a cube.

Honestly I would stick with the 6x8. I had T1 Fosgate components in my 01 Expedtion and built rings out of MDF. They sounded great but getting a tight seal is hard so the midbass lacked. I instead got T1 6x8s and the midbass is great and highs are wonderful. In your case of not running an amplifier I think changing out to 6.5" you would really miss the midbass that a 6x8 could provide and you don't need to do any building or modifying.
