  1. Why do you think this? Have you talked to them? DC power >>>> Power bastard anyday.
  2. well if you're using .75" mdf then your box is about 3 cuft net. You should be tuned about 33hz. But I don't know the volume of the kerf, bracing, or your 45s so subtracting about .2-.3 cuft and you'll have 2.7-2.8 cuft net and tuned to 34-35hz. Just is an estimate.
  3. So you're actually tuned higher. I wouldn't have posted a video if it was only 137dB with a BTL... hehe.
  4. draw a picture on paint and show how you have the subs wired from each sub to each other to the box to connect to the amp.
  5. Its been 10 minutes. You didn't have any new info anyways. Get a DMM and check your wiring. Do some work. None of us are there to test your equipment or see how your settings are set. We can only go off what you say.
  6. more than likely, you are clipping it. how did the shop set up the headunit and amp? and how did you crank it?
  7. I don't know exactly. You will have to get exact numbers from Kyle, Rob, or Dave. I know the XPs do more than their rated.
  8. Do you mean that your engine idles at 650 rpm? If that's the case then you won't be getting 155 amps from that mechman alt unless you rev your engine. Try like 70 amps or so at your actual idle. So that 300 alt from DC is an XP, right? Because their 270 SP is 550, their 270 XP is 650, and so this 300 XP is 800.
  9. Well, yeah if he wants dual 270s AND can run them in his engine bay then sure. That would be the better monetary choice. Explain to me what was confusing about alt rpm and engine rpm in my post? Mechman's site stated that alt does 155amps by 800 rpm engine speed. In daily driving, I'd rather have actual idle output being better than stock if I was going to upgrade. I don't wanna have to rev every time I am not moving. Shit, if his engine idle is 800 rpm then it would be a done deal for him to get two mechman 270s. I'd do a 270 XP from DC power or at least the 270 SP from DC power. I do agree that the price difference of the 300 from the 270 is pretty crazy. OP, are you confused yet? lol.
  10. make sure you read more than just the price. The DC that you linked does 25 amps more at idle. AND I don't know about his vehicle but mine doesn't idle at 800 rpm so Mechman's idle number is useless. I have seen Mechman's idle outputs first hand on a buddy's vehicle. I have also talked to someone that had ran an iraggi, two mechman's separate times, and then a DC Power alt. They had the same vehicle as me. The DC Power alt was far superior. I don't know how much mechman has improved his alts since a year ago but there was a reason I waited for my alt from DC Power. BUT when money is a problem to someone then they should get the cheaper alt.
  11. Now, if that's the case, don't you think DC Power would know to use that instead? Why would they want to tell him he has to have something that he can get from another alt company that is the same for half the price?
  12. Would you be blasting it full tilt all the time? I think 2-4 D3100s and a 300 DC power alt is fine if you burp it once in a while for demos or whatever. Also, there has to be a reason why the OP's alt is 800 dollars. I don't think he's getting ripped off. Its different for different applications and vehicles.
  13. get the motor diameter. 7.5" is 08 and 8.66" is 09. If you got an 08, and want another one, let me know.
  14. i installed 5 of them. No problems at all. One is in my girlfriend's mustang. I own the 3k version which is two of the 1500s in one case. No problems either.
  15. DC Power was the only company that took me seriously. I called Ohio Gen and Excess and they told me to hold then hang up. I called again and they said We'll call you back with a quote and whatnot then never heard from again. I called Mechman and his alt was way way overpriced for what it was and I have a buddy that had his alt. Needless to say, my buddy doesn't use that alt anymore because it messed up. I talked to Iraggi and he never answered anything straight and came off as if he didn't even need/want my business. Rob at DC Power explained what was what and told me exactly what I was getting. I wouldn't recommend any other company. I always could get a hold of Kyle or Rob. I could text Rob and he would text back and answer questions even when it was an off day and he was with his family.
  16. Don't have to be "damn careful". Just gotta be smart about setting things up. But the SSD won't need much space. I cannot comment on the optidrive but the HDC3 likes bigger boxes.
