in some case's i understand why people do it like myself and in his case the wire is free at no cost just some time putting it in. if your spending money on the wire on the other hand like you said might as well save little more and do it with 1/0 from the start. just saying some of us do it cuz thats what we got at the time and its better then nothing
-
kranny did bring up a very good point to remember, what ever wire you use make sure it can handle the amps your alt puts out.
-
you can do it with stock alt but this is you really want biggest wire you can ideal 1/0, i myself only have 2 gauge with stock alt cuz thats biggest wire i could get at the time. but really anything bigger then the stock wire will help. bigger wire just gives better flow, kinda like your graden hose smaller hose more pressure you need to get the water thru bigger hose easier it is to get the same amount of water thru. hope that kind gives you an idea of what it does yea it made sence, but im kinda using wat i have because i love car audio but i have very little money to work with. i can understand, thats why i just got some 2gauge welding wire from work. its the wire u got is bigger then your stock wire then it will help. hell i'm sure even if its same size i'm going to guess it will help having to runs instead of 1 since you see everyone running multi runs of 1/0 thats something you would need to double check:) or someone might chime in and let us both know

LordArcane replied to eric78702's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
honestly if you doing this dreamin or for real, first get the box calculator from here, google sketch up or something where you can draw the 3d box and figure out how big box is inside and out with displacement of everything from port to sub/s to get a good system it takes alot of planning of the box if the box if f'ed up then it don't matter what sub or how many you have it will sound like crap thats one thing i've learned but you did come to the right place there are many here who can help you and know ALOT about boxes and well everything you need to know about setting up a system you will find someone who knows and is willing to help you out -

URGENT help
LordArcane replied to StreetSlappah's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
if you having pumped the brakes yet its not in your lines so what you could do is suck all the fluid out with like a turkey baster or something like that and replace it with new. other then that i think you would have to drain whole system lines and all, i'd just sucks out whats there and replace it with new, that way even if there some still in there its not much. in all my years of working on cars and semi's i never ran into this so not 100% sure if it will be a big problems but. if was me i'd do like i said then just drive careful keeping close eye on how the brakes feel. -
New to 4x4
LordArcane replied to Bakerman's topic in Suspension and Brakes (4x4, street drops) - Lift it, Drop it..STOP it!
ok boiler posted as i was writing lol but hes right. forgot to add if its IFS there are also k frame drops, they lower your k frame so your able to get more list in the front of truck that hase IFS body lift, lifts the body off the frame. suspension lift, lifts the frame off the axles. all depens what you want to do, and how big you want to go. to much suspension lift can change the pinon angel and the angel of your inner c knuckles, that in time could cause damage. -
Sounds little weird...... ok lets watch the video see what this trunk monkey thing is about. ok i WANT one..... now just have to figure out where to buy one
-
The Prodigy...... one of the few that i first started listening to back in the day, they are still around and still putting out some good beats. ATB, Darude, Dj Tiesto, Plummet, Foggy, man the list goes on and on..... milk inc, so many more i could name anyways good luck on your techno, house, rave hunt

hair trick from what i seen takes some time to figure out since every car/suv/truck is different, big subs will help since they can move more air around, power helps as well, then you got to think about the box and placment of the box and how its ported and way the subs are facing, from what i seen its alot of testing unless you know what your doing. i'm sure everyone on here would love to do hair trick but fact is, its not as easy as just puting big subs and alot of power to them got to think about alot of other things that deal with box, and what car your putting this all in. i'm not expert here but this is how i look at it from all i seen so far

if she is listening to rock also i would say go with sealed for sure, i got my 2 10's ported in a 33hz tuned box and when i listen to rosk or metal it just doesn't hit or is that punchy if you know what i mean, rap on the other hand ya if she listens to mostly rap more then anything then go port just my 2 cents

if you have a compresser or someone you know with on... you can do it yourself easy, prolly less then what a shop could do if your looking for cheap paint job and with litte bit og time praticing could be even better then alot of shops. go to summitracing.com but a spray gun with a good tip and they for ALOT of summit paint and clear for pretty cheap and i've honestly seen ALOT of nice paint jobs done with it if you take your time

ok i got to ask since i heard this way more then just once.... don't mix sub sizes.... ok what about like meade where hes running his 4 18's and running 8's in the doors? i mean i don't know for sure here so ya thats why i'm bringing it up. but isn't that like this guy runnning say a 10 in each of his doors? and a 15 in the back? given this is prolly know how its set up but you know what i'm trying to say? cuz well my most recent idea of my own for my jeep was a 10 in each door (4 doors) ( if the doors have enough ft^3 for the 10) or 8's in each door plus having 2 15's in the back where i have JUST enough room for 3ft^3 after port and displacement. sorry if this is kinda like a thread jack Jon

yup + to + and - to - and your good
-
+ to + / - to - from each of the batterys the alt will charge them both as long as they are hooked together, and not sure if you want to run them + to - like other guy said, i might be wrong here but wouldn't that make his voltage 24 instead of 12?
-
i'll say 156.4 ok just seen your sig did not mean for this so i'll change it lol new one i'll got 157 even
-
i'm not dogging on you man hell i think at one point we all were in same place as you. like i said not trying to be a dick but if you want to stay cheap on it i'd say try new box i built mine for like 40 bucks screw glue and 4'x8' 3/4" mdf thats cheapest way i can think of you help you till you can afford 15's that would suit you better then buying some cheap ones now same i did with my 10's i want some 15's as well but i just made better box for them and they sound 100x better in custom box then pre made. again i wasn't trying to dog on you was just trying to help you out cuz i have type r's as well but smaller then yours so ya

lol honestly look thru some the vids on here, there are alot of bandpass boxes builds and vids that are just SICK! if they are done right they are nice but like noob said most people inculeding me don't know how to build one right, thats why most people say go ported box cuz they are easy to make (for most) and get you pretty loud with little power and subs, add big power and big subs and ya done right you can out do most people in your hood with 2 12's in the right ported box on only their RMS
