  1. I have a 175.4 as well. It does get pretty hot on me too. I have had it shut down once, but that was after about 25 minutes on 25/40 volume. Ira a great amp, but I can't help feeling like "brand name" (hifonics, mbquart, kicker, RF) amps don't have as many issues as the expensive ones (sundown, DC, Audioque)
  2. Oooh ooh ohh.. An amp? What do I win?
  3. Take a wrench and tap your starter kind of hard a few times... If it starts after you do that, it's a bad starter. Also Sounds like it could be a bad ignition module.
  4. I accidentally pulled on mine too hard when trying to run the wire, andit snapped right in half. If anyone happens to have one, or know where i can get one, please let me know! Thanks!
  5. Almost sounds like a blown output on the HU or possibly bad RCA's. Try running a different set of RCA's from the radio to the amp and see if it goes away.
  6. The set up C-fizzy described is basically exactly what I did... My box is just a bit bigger.
  7. I have an 18 in my trunk... I went sub up, aeroport up through the rear deck, and IMO it sounds awesome! You will need alot of sound deadener though, lol. Trust me... Edit: after all displacements I have more than 6cubes if box volume
  8. I actually have the one on the left too. Going on 2 years now... every once in a while i lose it for a few weeks-months... always find it in the couch, or under my drivers seat, lol.
  9. Its hard to believe that he was able to kill an amp in 3 days, especially with good electrical (and not being a dumbass to the gain or volume)... I had a problem with some other amps when i gave them higher voltage than recommended from a line driver. Overheated almost instantly... If no one gives a better suggestion, i would try to swap your old HU back in for a try. Unless of course its already too late... Then you may be out of luck.
  10. Yes it does! Has a lot of awesome features http://tinyurl.com/dzszy3 Lolz
  11. No thanks man. I have no need for another HU. Thanks though!
  12. Im always open to offers, but i really need cash right now. If someone wants to trade for a 360.2 i would deff consider working that out somehow.
  13. I pulled this out of my car and replaced it with a Pioneer double din. This thing always sounded awesome, has great EQ and X-over settings. Even if you own a 9886 its a huge upgrade. Cosmetic - 7/10 Mechanical - 10/10 BONUS!!!! comes with free mix CD (forgot to take it out, lol) $250 shipped OBO
  14. I did that when I first installed it. There is 4 thick L brackets bolting the box to te false floor. Then the false floor is bolted through the floor of the trunk...
  15. Its not moving a full quarter inch, i was exaggerating. One amp is mounted to the front of the box using multiple foam spacers. Another amp is mounted to the rear of the box. Then another amp is mounted to the false floor at an angle on the left side of the box... The entire false floor/box assembly shakes, its the two amps on the box that im most worried about. The spacers significantly reduced the vibration, but its still bad enough to have me worried.
  16. Alright, so my enclosure in my trunk refuses to stay still... Causing my amps and my box to bounce up and down a good quarter inch. I built a false floor out of plywood, I'm thinking of taking it out and replacing it with 3/4" mdf. My box is double baffled on the sub side, there is no panel flex on the wood, but I'm thinking of adding two vertical 2x4's on the inside of the box. Just for extra stability. (also to lower my net box volume, it's a little too big. I have the false floor bolted through the floor, one on the left and one on the right side, in the middle section. I filled the wheel well with expanding foam... An the box is bolted to the false floor with 4 L brackets... I would bolt the inside of the box, but because the sub is up firing in the trunk the sub needs to be in the box before it goes in the trunk. What else can I do?
  17. I actually considered getting this one, but i have a few issues with it. I dont think Sundown or DC amps like getting a 9v signal from the source unit... Sundown likes a max of 5v, DC has a max of 6v. EDIT: the mb quart only likes a max of 6v as well Or does the knob labeled "input level" adjust how much voltage the unit runs through the RCA's? And in the description it says it has "Ground Isolation: 1Kohm" What is this good for? Will this help manage engine noise? (damn pico fuse in my pioneer is bad =[ )
