  1. I kinda laughed a little as i read this haha. That is a serious sub indeed!!! Good luck with it guys keep everyone posted.
  2. Wicked pic! And interesting test.
  3. Rob you are my hero. haha SET YOUR STUFF UP PROPERLY it is that simple. If you set it up to over drive your subs ability sure it will blow, but on that note one of my customers i have powering stock lv3 12s with a DC 3000.1 which im pretty sure will do the same power as the sundown.
  4. You have to kidding if you think that will effect that sub in any way. Sweet sub though it will kill your back soon! haha
  5. Can i make a suggestion? Do NOT strap your amps. 2 subs 2 amps run each amp to each sub and match the gains. You will most likely have better results doing this rather then strapping. I had a guy with a pair of DD M2 amps strapped on a pair of lv4 12s. He was having bad phase issues and heating subs up fast. He brought it to me to find the problem and fix it. Simply un-strapped the amps and set the gains LOWER then previously when strapped. Instantly all issues were solved and it was 2 dB louder. I would not worry about a XL taking one of those amps daily at all, just make sure you dont push the amp into clip to "make it louder with more power". Thats how 90% of people blow stuff up, they think making it louder is as simple as turning up the volume or jacking up the amps because it still has a few more clicks. You need to do some testing to find the threshold of your system, its all about the user knowledge. The better you know your system and its limits the louder and longer you can play it.
  6. Buy the DCs they will handle that power no problem. Not to mention there is no way you will see 2200 per amp running 1ohm on 12 volts in the real world. But on that note like few people have said set that shit up PROPERLY! I see guys with the bass boost cranked to "get more power" or the gains maxed out, even the Xovers pinned just because they think to the max will be loudest... Oh dear!!!
  7. Ya what you said!!! :drunk:
  8. Yes that was 50 Hz again to keep it consistent with the last 4000+ video. I just turned it up this time. 8k wont make a stinky coil for a burst. Ya 8164 watts free air is alot of power no question. Obviously it will take much more power in a enclosure inside a car. I want to see more people doing this with their subs. :01nocomment8so:
  9. Who wants to see the newest vid 8000+ watts free air?
  10. This is big news on the smd forum!!!
  11. Ya thats alot of weight on there. And that is a straight edge table top. haha
  12. A pair of 12s will be alot louder mostly because they can handle twice the power..... One of my guys has a Stetsom 4k2d on a pair of lv4 12s, he is getting pretty loud with it..... but i think he is stepping up to a 11k2d soon.
  13. Mr. P is a very soft spoken individual but his stereo is loud!
  14. I actually have a box i would like you to try. If you want max port area this is the key. Also i hate the way your box is now. lol How much height do you have for the outside of the enclosure?
  15. I had one of these in Nevada they are overrated.
  16. what he said. :drunk:
  17. nope that was a different table. A table that will never be seen again after that incident.
  18. The spl version will probably handle less power for what i do anyways. No question they would be louder but less cooling. I will stick with my regular trusty XLs........ until the thorshammer XL is released.
  19. haha thats right those subs flexing the table without any power at all!
  20. with your current surrounds i think you will be ok. Jimbo has regular XLs, seeing as the spl versions are still not available and were not even a thought when i purchased subs. Why would you think i had spl XLs?
  21. Lilrocco i dont know who you are but i dont like you. PS your sister is hot.
