thermostats usually are inside the top radiater hose so you just disconnect that and it should be right there. when your changing it though make sure to pay attention what way it was put in because if you put it in backwards your car wont start. and yes it fits both ways.

like twenty bucks thermostats are super cheap

could be water pump too. when the car is cool open the radiater cap start the car and see if you can see fluid moving

check out dat amps talk to them they will be able to match you with a great amp or tell you how much one is going to cost

the only problem i can see with that is your computer becoming outdated and slowing down or programs advancing and not being able to work at an optimal level on your computer but im not a computer expert at all just my thoughts.
