My car is in my avatar. Got it used 37k miles from carmax for 13g. Got a 5 year extended warranty for about another g. 6 cylinder, and it has the same insurance as a honda civic...aka: classified with insurance company as not a sport/luxury car. from what the company told us. The car is low mileage, and ford is reliable enough...satisfying rule #1 The extended warranty satisfies rule #2 The insurance satisfies rule #3 So don't rule out the luxury/sport cars

I have read countless reviews on that head unit that say you cant see it in sunlight. I was between that one and the pioneer double din for my new install. Just lettin' ya know.

Pioneer. I loved the DEH-P6000UB that I had. Its last years model so it should be really cheap on ebay! Way under 200. Edit: The screen is where this one wins, its not just the figure 8 design, but an OLED, if I am correct.

Roast beef cooked in a crock pot in mushroom soup, cut in thick slices. With the layer biscuits and white rice. Put the a thick slice of beef in the biscuit, put rice on it, then smother in gravy......amazing

Not interested in used stuff. I am just curious as to whether you guys think the hifonics one (2000 @ 1 ohm) or the SSL (2200 @ 4 ohms, with the option to go parallel to 3400 @ 1 ohm) is better. Just worried that the SSL amp might not be very good quality.

I am planning a system for 1 Fi BTL 18". I am not sure about what to get it with (all the options for customization) so if anyone knows what I would want for just a normal daily sub, I want the best one I can get, but not one just for SPL only and not daily use, let me know. Anyway, people are repeatedly telling me that the BTL's can take way over the 2000 RMS power handling safely, and daily. My question is, is this really true? I am not trying to spend and arm and a leg for an amplifier, so I am looking at a Hifonics Brutus amp that can push 2000 @ 1 ohm...and also a sound storm labs amp that can push 2200 at 4 ohms and 3500 or so at 1 ohm. I would like to know which one of these I would be better going with (or if you have another ~400$ amp that would be better). If your vote is for the SSL one, let me know whether you say go parallel or series. Please nobody post me a link saying buy this $800 amplifier.

Where have you looked, I guarantee you can find some at the local radioshack or hardware store.

Will do, cant say I wont be posting at all though. While on the topic of the ported box, I do have one question I am curious about and have been for a while. My trunk opening is rather small, and I don't know how I would ever fit a large sub box into my trunk. Is there anyway to assemble it in two pieces in the trunk or something?

Wow guys thanks for all the help. I was under the impression that a w7 was kinda the king of SPL. I think I might just occupy myself with building a custom ported enclosure for the two I have now. I could always even buy 2 more w3's and make an even bigger enclosure.

I have thought about that though.

Because like I said, I can still return them for a full refund.

Hey guys, recently installed a sealed box of two 12" JL audio w3's in my trunk. They are great but I would like them to hit harder. I got them from Crutchfield so I can still send them back. I am debating buying one 12" W7 and putting it in a ported box. Can anyone who knows a lot about JL audio speakers help me out and tell me if this would really be any louder?
