  1. Thanks for the feedback, and im glad you posted that. I was considering deadning the side panels of the trunk since they flex so much too, but the foam idea sounds like it will handle that rattling down there as well. License plate will get handled as well. Deck is uncut at the moment, but I have no rears, just front stage, and rear speakers are removed. I also have a large hole where a stock sub would be on my rear deck that was not a option in my car. Im debating now, I have a 4th order bandpass design I might use that will get rid of the trunk rattles all together , assuming I use it.
  2. Very nice, 4th order bandpass FTW Now get a Sundown or DC 3000d amp, and really awake those REs.
  3. I need to, just been busy and a little lazy.... didnt have time last week because of my day job, and cant do it this week because of my night job. I might have some time this weekend, I think im going to pull out the sub and handle that. I need to run my wires better, it was a rush job with the amps because I had to be at work, but its been working fine, plus you cant see it anyway, but its bugging the hell out of me, lol.
  4. Thanks Drew, I honestly need to brace the entire box. Ill prob grab some wooden dowels from Lowes this weekend while im out, but something new is coming around the turn pike, this was just a "layover" setup for me lol. Let me ask you this, I got some scrap beams of wood laying around intended for something else, would they work as well? Their 1/2" x 2" and long enough to go across the box both ways.
  5. Here are a couple of quick vids I shot at the house yesterday. I usually dont shot vids at home, but all my neighbors were away this weekend so I made it snappy. Its a single DC LVL 4 18" in a 5.5ft3 box tuned to 32hz powered by a Kicker 1200.1. I def go to do some deadning on that trunk lid, as well as the side panels of the trunk, (they flex pretty well) Going to prob shoot some more today. Its not bad, considering I have less than $600 total invested in the setup.
  6. Thanks for the input guys, answered my questions. I picked up a Kicker KX 1200.1 to push the sub for the time being, and going to run my current box unless I get the urge to build something else. Ill try to get some pics of the install when its complete.
  7. Just picked up a LVL 4 18 D2 with a fresh recone from a local guy. Currently, sub is in 5.5 net tuned to 32hz. Im considering building a new box for the sub, a little bigger, but what im wondering is what you guys would suggest? I have a Crown Vic, so I have plenty of room, could go up to 8 cubic feet net if nessary. Also, how much power should I feed this beast? I could get a good deal on a Orion 1200d, which seems perfect, but seems everyone on here pushes much more power to their DC subs than recommend and they handle it well. I figure the larger box would work well with the amp I mention since power handling tends to drop a bit with larger enclosures correct? Any input is apperciated thanks.
  8. Still hell of a score, and one hell of a system, my ears were still ringing on the drive back home. Didnt sit in that monster, but stuck my head inside a couple of times, that was good enough for me
  9. X2 to all of the above, lol. Your van did a nice number too, better than alot of the more "SPL" type setups their. It was cool to meet you guys too.
  10. 146.3 on (2) 10s?? Meh, believe it when I see the vid, Had a great time, and yeah, you were def louder than most of the crew there... Man, Bret's F150 was insane, had my shirt like :hairtrick: Cool dude too.
  11. Still sounding good man, im sure its much louder now. Were you talking about the audio comp in Foley (i think?) tomorrow? Im prob going to go, riding down with a friend sometime tomorrow.
  12. Thanks, and I got to stop working these two jobs im loosing some common sense, I forgot to check the website, lol. Searching>me
  13. Whats the ideal net volume for a pair of these 10s? And could these handle 2k each daily? Curious...
  14. Take the advice given here, thats a bad idea you mention. Why not try something smaller to work you way up? A single FI BTL 18" on a RF T4K would be sweet, , but you will blow that sub to Kingdom Come if you dont know what your doing. Since you drive a CV you have plenty of space, how about a pair of FI SSD 12s or 15s of a 1500w or 1800 amp? Something to get your feet wet.
  15. Done deal, did it this past weekend. Amp shipped Monday, I got it Wed . This is a really nice sale, I hope I can get my subs before the month is up.
  16. I notice it a few days ago, big improvement. I can dig it.
  17. Just sold my AQ 4x90, so Ill be PM you Sundownz for a 125.2 or two this week Hell of a sale!!
  18. My ears still ringing from the demo, lol. Loud as balls man, going to be sick with that 3500d at full power on them.
  19. Cool I like it, im quite sure its loud as hell dumping into the cabin like that. I like the fact the rear seat is still usable, very nice.
  20. 05 xxx was a great sub, but like it was mention above, comparing it to the Level 5 or the BTL is like apples to oranges. XXX are great low end monsters, that have great output. Very nice subs IMO. However, though they are hard to find used, $550 is too much seriously. If it was me, I would shop around on the classified fourms used sections until I found one at a more reasonable price.
