You need to do a ton of measuring. Then build a frame of 2x4's bolted to the car. Then layer MDF over the 2x4's to make the "box". Cut your baffle to fit tightly to the shape of the car, OR make beauty panels that fit between the box and the car to seal it off. I know... but it works. lol I really wish there was an "easy" way to remove it. I've only found a handful of chemicals that will touch this butyl and they are WAY too toxic to be playing within the confines of a vehicle. We try to develop a product that won't come off and now people are wanting it to peel off... jeez... Let us know how it goes and if you figure out a better/faster method. Its not the precision I'm worried about. The butyl will just stick to the cutting disc, making it less effective.

That just makes the adhesive gummy, messier. I'm thinking the opposite, like dry ice.

I need to remove a couple pieces of DP so I can cut the metal(using a cutting disc). I'm with you. Everyone is stating they want one, but what exactly does it do? I have an idea, but I'm still not 100%. It is to set your crossovers on your amplifier(s). Since the potentiometer used on the amplifiers for the crossover only give you an estimate of the frequency your setting your crossover at, this will allow you to set the crossover exactly instead of just turning it until you see 60hz, 80hz, 100hz, 120hz, or somewhere in between. edit: Meaning, if you want your subsonic filter to filter out everything 28hz and below, but the dial only goes from 10hz-50hz you would normally have to guess where 28hz is, and you are almost never correct (even if there would be a number 28 on your amplifier, the printing could be off enough to make a good difference). So for your example, you play a 28hz test tone and adjust the crossover(subsonic) knob on the amp until the "calibrated" light illuminates.

You are in for a lot of maintenance, man. My dad had a huge salt water tank, 80-100 gallon I think. Took half a day every weekend draining, cleaning, refilling, and getting levels right. Not to mention the checks throughout the week to make sure there are no ph spikes.
