The AQ20 is rated at 8k at 12.5 volts, so if he had 3 alts and like 2 big batts, he could ride 13.5volts+ all day and really pump out some power to those Level 5s...

Try it out. But AQ subs don't really like the low low lows. They like mid to high 30s if not in the 40s. I think it'd sound good and just don't put a lot of power to it, to be safe if you don't want to damage it.
