Yeah bro I was there. I did not enter the the actual car show though, so my explorer was parked way away in the back hiding. I was beside a lifted blue bronco with a modded 351 in it most of the time though. I did enter the bass off. But that did not start until about 1:50, so you definitely missed that. Josh from Team Nemisis was there with his dodge with 8 12s, and he rocked the show 1st place with a 150.3db, and the guy from Team Deadly Hertz with the suburban with 4 18s got second with a 150.2db. I got to talk to Josh with the 8 12s, but I did not get to talk to the guy in the suburban since I never saw him after we ran. But PM me when you see/read this.

If you really want to do it, you can just buy smoked head light covers. That way you can take them off whenever you want, and wear them whenever you want.

Sometimes it is cheaper to just buy locally, because you have to remember about adding additional money for shipping. If you are only buying wiring, I would just hit up some local shops, see what wire they have and how much. If they are a little too pricey for you, do what Skullz said and hit up a local welding shop and buy some wire there.

Did 80 in a 45 to get to class on time because i woke up late. Illegal tint on the car, no seat belt, too loud of music on my way home, driving without shirt/shoes. Hmm....what else...that's all I can think of now. I don't normally speed, but it was last class and I had to finish putting my engine together and take my finals.

I would just pay the money to get an idea of what numbers you are pulling off. Local shop around here charged me $25 and I did not even get to control my own H/U. to pthrift, that is just a rule of thumb in the "science behind hair trick video" made by Ed. You can do a hair trick with hitting lower than that, but it's not hair getting blown up and moving erratically like we all like it to. Rule of thumb according to Ed is that you need around 150db to pull off an actual hair trick.

Why don't you buy both, and test them. They're both good companies with good prices and good costumer service. Whichever one you go with you don't be disappointed.

Alrighty, I know there isn't many people in the VA area on this website, but I do know there are a few here and there. So this is for all of us in the VA area. If didn't make it out last year, or didn't hear about it, you should really come and check it out this year! Last year it had a good turnout, we had everything from old muscle cars to newer lifted trucks. Last year there was no SPL competition though, but this year there will be one! This is at the Hooters on Broad street right across the street from Wawa, address is in the flyer. It is free to come and spectate, and it cost $25 to show off your car.

FreqGen is a good one, try it out. It is a good app, only downside is not able to chose what kind of db the tone is. But when I was testing it, it was making my amp put out the same volts as a -3 db tone.

I use "FreqGen", it's free and has 5 different options for what kind of Wave it is. Lowest it can go is 20hz, highest is 20,000hz

IIRC using the bass boost knob on the amp will create the amp to work harder than it needs to work, causing stress on your electrical, low voltage, which'll then start causing you to send clipped signals to your sub. But also bass boost only boost 1 freq (45) and who wants that? If it's not loud enough for you without bass boost or maxing out your bass freq on your H/U, upgrade to a bigger system.

Set it by ear is better than using an DMM? I'd rather use a DMM than set it by ear, if he hears distortion after setting it with the DMM THEN he can go and tweak it around by ear to get the distortion away. To the OP, just put your settings on your H/U like you have them when daily driving, and set it that way. To answer your question to see if it "sounds" right, all amps are different.

Yeah I have no clue if I want to lower my explorer or lift it, I keep going back and forth. It's going to stay stock height for a while till I decide and I am 100% positive it is what I want. I understand what you're going through, to an extent.

I use a craftsman DMM and it works perfectly fine for me, never have had any problems with it.

The 2 seconds I looked at it, it looked like a way older model, but I may be wrong, not up-to-date with my craftsman modeled tools. Just as stated as before though, that should be fine for the casual user.

This one isn't half bad I use a different model than this one, but mine looks almost the same. Good meter for the price IMO.

If you're speakers are D4's wire them like this to reach a 1 ohm load. 1 & 4 Ohm Load

The RE calculator does work, to a limit. You have to account for other things yourself. As you notice Torres calculates the tuning with the displacements, the RE does not. If you use the RE you have to calculate a few things yourself. Torres is easier and more accurate though since it calculates the other things itself.
