  1. put foam inside the weather seal area. thats whats rattling most likely as well as the area where the latch is. some cars are able to have the ring that the latch attaches too move down for a tighter fit.
  2. what do you recommend? most bang for my buck? yes I got the sub for a really good price ... the crescendo is going to be the cheapest new 2k you can find.
  3. D, I was looking at less than $400 ... well like i said an amp that does 1000 at 4 ohms is going to be expensive. youll have to get at least a 2500 rms amp. and thats going to closer to 500 i would recomend the aq. if you do want more power the Crescendo line has a 2k for 339 shipped. do you have a link to the crescendo amp for 339? http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/crescendo/79332-crescendo-sex-new-amp-pics.html to email them use this email [email protected] thats the way you order since their website is not completed yet. i own a 2k and its very strong and i have no complaints.

  5. the aq does 510 at 4 ohm. whats your price range? finding an amp thatll do 1000 at 4 ohms wont be cheap the jl is rated at 750 rms. at 3 ohms with the aq youll get about 600-700 if your not wanting to push the sub to its limits then the aq is a good option
  6. check out crescendo. true 2k brand new for 339 shipped
  7. Heck, if we're going to use Alpha Damp we can cut them! Wow the Christmas spirit has really gotten into me! or drown em in spectrum lol
  8. YAY! We can start a club! We can make rules and slogans. Then when we find people with non-red hair, we can beat the crap out of them! that sounds awesome. beat them with roles of alpha damp
  9. This for the Blazer? Personally I would probably use the Alpha. How did you remember that I had a blazer? Magic! Us red heads have it. Na just some people on here I'm able to remember what vehicles they have/are working on. well nice to know theres a fellow redhead on here
  10. my dad actually ordered HID's for my brother through them. they came out pretty nice. and to answer your question. they shouldnt get worse. because im pretty sure the ballast holds electricity like a capacitor. i could be wrong. i cant say the problem will go away. but it shouldnt get worse.
  11. you need to clean up the wiring on your subwoofer. those frays can come into contact with each other and spark and what not. why are your cables so large? you should use 14 guage for speaker cable. you wont lose any current so dont worry about the wire being too small
  12. heres a link. sundown you might be able to do a sealed 12 in that space
  13. this is true, i dident think of that, thanks! no prob. that should help you narrow down how much room you could have to play with. were you looking for a shallow mount sub? or just something that could fit. i know the sd series from sundown are small but are pretty strong
  14. i dont know how large the spare wells are. but you can start by figuring out if the spare is a full size or a donut. then go tire height because they will match the standard height and most donuts are going to be around 6-8 inches thick.
  15. unfortunately this threads not allowed. theres no vs threads. "which will be louder" or anything like that. im saving you from posting more threads like this but unfortunately you cant really ditermine which will be louder when the subs are in the same ball park and class. both subs are good and ive heard nothing but good things about them. ive never heard the aqs in person. but the level 4 i heard was great sounding. and clean. you cant go wrong with either. so its just going to be your preference. then build a box that fits it. and youll have a good sounding system
  16. Have someone else that has experience do it then. Too many people fuck up rear ends and end up stranded somewhere with shattered pinion/ring teeth. Setting up a set of gears the right way isnt a walk in the park the first time you do it im not a total retard. i trust my abilities to do stuff. i know they're not a walk in the park but im prepared to rebuild it and do my research
  17. yeah ill be paying attention to the shimming and stuff. im going to order the complete regear kit. when i have the money. how far up the gear should the pinion be? roughly 3/4s up? ive never played with differentials before so ill be doing my research to make sure i do it correctly
  18. well thats exactly what i wanted to hear lol. how will i know if its the wrong part? theres only a couple things in the regear kits.
  19. okay. alright. ford racing.com has the 410 gears but its for the same rear end. but in a mustang. that shouldnt make a difference in the actual gear fitment right? i havent looked to check the bolt pattern. but the 4.2 has the 8.8'' diff correct? factory i believe are the 28's
  20. yeah when i regear im going to replace the bearings. basically rebuild the whole thing. and im sure the rear end on my truck is going to get worse over time. ive only had the tires on for a year or so. but i baby the truck. i cant afford to dog it. i dont go mudding anymore. just trails.
  21. yeah i know rpms will get higher at interstate speeds. but i cant afford a tuner right now. but regearing is a cheaper option without changing the computer and screwing everything up
