Leaning towards 4 t.1000 15's or 4 level 4 18's. Anyone know if either of these could handle ~1300-1500 rms all day? I know that's pretty far over their rated rms...but I am also aware that t3 and dc make beefy ass subs and under-rate them. As always, thanks for the advice guys.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Being somewhat new to car audio, my decision will depend heavily on the advice from my fellow SMD guys. Oh, this will definitely be a wall build. I have no intentions of doing anything other than a wall. The Level 5's have crossed my mind, of course..but I NEED something cheaper. I really can't afford them at the moment. I still have to buy EVERYTHING after the subs (batteries are next, then alternator, then wiring and shit, then box materials and whatever is left) I guess that I don't have a set budget... although I definitely don't want to hurt my wallet too bad. I want to have this thing playing by summer, at least. I guess it comes down to the best deal for subs that can sufficiently handle the power they will be seeing EVERYDAY. I prefer to have 4 subs that can handle ~1300+ RMS, as opposed to 2 subs at ~2500+RMS. But in the end it will come down to whatever I can get the best deal on.

Purchased my SD 5k a couple days ago! I'm debating on whether to buy 2 18's or 4 15's...4 18's ? (If they would fit) Basically, I'm looking to build a wall on a budget. I was just looking for some advice as to which subs could handle the amp without killing my wallet too badly. I really wanna hit the lows and move some air (and hair). It's all going in a 4 door s10 Blazer. As always, thanks for the help guys.

I'll be there. Spectating only, of course. Hopefully there is a nice turn out. And hopefully it doesn't rain too bad. -

I definitely understand man. Had this shit forever. All through school for as long as I can remember. I literally watch the clock move for hours at night. Sometimes I take a melatonin(spelling) supplement. Supposedly it makes you sleepy, I don't know if it's all in my head or not...but it seems to work for the most part. Don't need a prescription either, just like 5-6 bucks. Good luck man -
First off, I would like to say that I love this forum. The community is extremely helpful, and there are some insane builds. I bought 2 new subwoofers earlier this week (Memphis PR 15"). They are in a slot ported box that a friend of mine from a local shop built. I have a Memphis PR 1.500 amp. (came from old setup. was only used for a matter of months, and not pushed hard AT ALL) The head unit is an Alpine CDE-9872. (came from old setup) All wiring is memphis. 1 gauge amp kit. The door speakers are still stock.(working on getting new ones) The car is a S10 Blazer. (Old setup was in a Lexus ES300 with the same amp and deck, but 3 kicker 12" comps) I can post pics of the setup if you guys want..but it's nothing too crazy, nothing that you haven't seen before. Nothing like the systems on this site. I am somewhat new to car stereos, and I have a few questions about my setup. Thank you to all who help! I was wondering if there would be any reason NOT to have my amp being pushed to it's full potential? Is it safe to turn it all the way up? I am pretty sure that the subs could take it, right? Also, what kinds of numbers do you think my system would put up? I know it won't be anything good, I was just curios. This car is going to be a project for me. I want to make it loud to where I can actually go to shows and competitions. I am probably not going to be able to get any good numbers out of what I have, but I am making good money now and everything can be replaced in time. And I am going to start adding things to the car with every paycheck, but I honestly don't know what to start with. I was wondering what you guys would do next if you had my current setup? (within reason. more expensive=takes longer to afford) I know it is a long thread, but any help is greatly appreciated!!!!
