  1. OH LOL! I replied before the pics were up. So the box is ported but it's in a sealed-off trunk. I gotcha now.
  2. From what I've gathered on here, firing subs and port toward the back is usually louder in a trunk setup. Not sure if it's th same for a sealed box though. Are you able to lower the seats? If so, have you tried it when nobody's in the back to see how loud it is?
  3. I clicked the link and looked at the specs, and your "5000" watt amp does 1300 watts at RMS at 1 ohm. So it definitely calls for an upgrade. You can do bass on a budget but you wont get the same output as a more expensive and powerful system. Don't be expecting to do 150's with a $200 system.
  4. LOL! I figured that'd be it. If you have a TI-83/84 calculator and want a super-quick program to do it for you, make a new program called BOX and type this in: :Input "PORT AREA (IN2)=",A :Input "PORT LEN. (IN)=",B :Input "NET VOL. (FT3)="C :(C*1728)->C :(1.84*10^->D :(C+.823√(A))->E :√((AD)/(BE))->F :Disp "TUNING (HZ)=",.159F It'll have you input the area, length, and net volume and spit out the tuning frequency. Also, it has you put in the volume in cubic feet rather than cubic inches, saving you the time of converting it yourself. OMG someone needs to fix the smileys. "8 )" always shows up as and "8 0" shows up as 80. So irritating...
  5. Are you sure you were putting in the volume in cubic inches and not cubic feet?
  6. port is 2.25" wide, 13.5 tall. It's using max. dimensions. If you're gonna o with that design, make sure to put 45's in the corners of the port to help the air flow better. The port wound up being just over 30" long.
  7. Or you could do it the cool-kid way with SketchUp, a calculator, and Torres' calc: 1 DC LVL 4 XL. 2 cubes tuned to 31.5hz. Had I made the port longer to tune it lower, it would have dropped the net volume too low. Looks kinda cool with the uber port though. I'm assuming it's in a trunk (looked at your avatar) so I put the sub and port back, which is what made the port be so long (had to snake it).
  8. I know Audacity allows you to export a sound file as a MP3 with a plugin from their site. If you don't have Audacity, don't bother, but if you use it to cut/edit it could just take a step out of the equation.
  9. Head on over to Photobucket.com and make an account. If you have a camera, you can upload your pictures to your profile on the website ant post the images on here. If you don't have a camera like me, what I do is take the pictures on my phone and text them to my email address, then upload them to Photobucket. You can just post them in this thread or PM them to me when you get them.
  10. Literally. A 12" might fit if you inverted the sub.
  11. I've never seen a lot of people run them. I know some people are crazy about their amps, but no their subs I guess.
  12. Oh, gotcha. If you can get some measurements of the area where you would like the sub to be and maybe a few pics (even cell phone pics would be fine) I can try to get a SketchUp of a box going to see how it'd look.
  13. You don't want anything behind the seat at all? I know there's not much room back there, but I designed this for a guy a few months back to fit 4 8's behind the seats in his regular cab.
  14. Nothing beats JL. They're the top of the line. That's why they're the most expensive.
  15. I don't see how everyone says the PS3 has better graphics. I've never seen a game made on both the PS3 and the 360 that showed the PS3 having better graphics. And you can't compare exclusives because every developer has their own way of doing graphics, meaning you're comparing apples and oranges. Halo: Reach looks just as good or better than any game I've seen on the PS3, and it's still in internal Beta development. As far as graphics potential goes, the word "potential" just means you haven't accomplished anything yet, and that's completely true. I understand the hardware is "beefier", but I haven't seen a game tryly take control of it yet. The main reason for that is because nobody knows how to really use an 8-core processor efficiently. It's an impressive piece of hardware and the free Blu-Ray player and online gaming is an amazing deal. Personally, I prefer the exclusives on the 360 (see avatar) and all the extra functionality of Xbox Live, but I digress. As far as the review goes, I give you a 1/5. Lack of any sort of punctuation or capitalization aside, you seem concerned most about the lack of backwards comparability and internal hard drive, which were two big reasons you rated it at 2.5/5. However, you didn't take into account the fact that you were reviewing one of a long line of console models. That's the same as reviewing the Xbox 360 Arcade console and saying that all Xbox 360's get 2.5/5 because it didn't come with a hard drive. Next time make sure you review just your model, not the console as a whole.
  16. I'm confused. This is the most oxymoronic picture ever.
  17. The only way you get MS points is buy buying them online or in a store. The "codes" off the cards are only active once the card it purchased. So, unless you guessed a code to a card someone bought but hasn't redeemed yet, you're not getting any points. The website that generates "codes" merely uses a super-simple algorithm (probably like 5 lines of java code) to generate a random 25-character string. And while you're sitting there writing down the code, it's background-downloading trojans into your browser cache. In short, no, they're not legit. Unless you want malware, don't click the link.
  18. The prototype level 5 8's were on the market a few years ago. They're super hard to come by now.
  19. HAHA I love how in every demo vid there's the person in the passenger seat flipping out at how loud it is and a group of people outside the window trying to stick their heads in and Meade sitting in the driver's seat like "meh, I'm still not impressed". The Hoe sounds like she's POUNDING on those new woofaz! That paint still looks damn good too. I'm glad you left the rims chrome, contrasts very nicely. All-around A+ to you good sir!
  20. Your door panel is a 1/4 sheet of wood? I need pics of that.
  21. Take it out of the box and free-air it on low wattage so you can see if anything is moving that shouldn't be.
