  1. Wasn't trying to be a jerk or anything as GM is usually the ones having those issues, if you have extra gear you can try out and see if you can isolate the noise you'll need to try that. Use an mp3 player into the amp as a source instead of the H/U and see if thats where it is, try different rca's ran from the front to back above the carpet and away from the power wires and also check you speaker wires and make sure they aren't frayed and exposed or shorting out.
  2. http://www.mfmbp.com/ccp51/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi?usr=51G752337&rnd=4450556&rrc=N&affl=&cip=69.14.214.239&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=PSalum&cat=&catstr= 100sq ft. for $121.00 and only be .045 thick but for the fucking price it beats a lot of other stuff hands down for the price, so what if you have to double up on it its still cheaper.
  3. Same as an XL only with the smaller motor of a lvl 4.
  4. Might wanna think your system through a bit more before posting. What do you want to achieve with the system you want to build? How many speakers do you plan on using and type of enclosure to house them? How many amps do you plan on using to power this system with? How well is the electrical to power everything with? Not trying to be a jerk in any way but take some time with some paper and pen and make a list of the things you want and or need for the system you want to do, rushing in to a system can cost a lot more winging it then sitting down and planning it. Just my .02
  5. Here's another option and the price on them are pretty cheap. http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?t=2&products_id=33
  6. Could try a pair of these as they can be placed in an enclosure as small as .35cf per sub. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Daber-Audio-SQL%252d8.html
  7. I'm not an spl person so my knowledge is pretty limited on what it takes to get there but i would just make notes on what others have done in trunk applications and try to copy as much as you can from what they have done and hope it can work for you.
  8. Another thing to do is to seal as much inside the car as you can, meaning your deadener completely covers the inner door panels so no air can escape along with the back panels.
  9. Have you tried sealing trunk off with subs and port firing forward yet or just don't want to go down that road just yet?
  10. Unless your strictly doing comps with it id tune lower for daily bumping use and try to improve from there. Try some different sizes of enclosures with different size ports and see which one can yield the best score, not saying its cheap but its really the only way to narrow down the path to go, would probably be best to try using pvc ports for ease of switching sizes along with lengths.
  11. With sealed enclosures its best to have each sub in its own space so the other subs aren't getting influenced in anyway from the pressure of the others and for ported you want to use a common chamber so you can tune the box as a whole.
  12. With that space id go with a pair of lvl 4 15's and hammer away.
  13. Why would you have an odd numbered pair of components for when wiring in even sets of numbers makes wiring to a 1,2 or 4 ohm load a lot easier, 3 sets of components just makes life tough wiring wise when you could have just got another set and wired down to 2ohm with one amp vs. two amps.
  14. Then buy a sono tube slap a couple of pieces of 3/4 MDF on, and at one end with the sub cutout and your set. EDIT: just a note of caution though as you'll probably need to use poly fill inside the chamber as round and closed cylindrical tubes can make some unwanted noise due to the sound waves bouncing around inside.
  15. You could use a giant beach ball glued to a 4" piece of pvc hung from something and slowly wrap it in paper mache till its hard enough to hold its shape to apply some mat and resin and then build up some layers till its thick enough.

  18. http://www.car-part.com/ Just enter zip code so you can find ones near you. That site really helps in locating used parts for your ride.
  19. Dude you'll be fine on that 75" belt, you have a tensioner so 1/4" is nothing and will stretch that out over time. Just so long as the rib count is the same your good to go.
  20. Rear seats are a must in cars anymore, plus its nice to fold em down and toss shit in the back. Spare tire if you don't happen to have one as it sucks to be stranded without one available.
