I have the DC14 Animal...it's a purple Dyson upright and I'm proud of it. Seriously the thing works wonders...you'd think it was fragile by how it looks, but it takes a beating.

I just get a kick out of the model number starting with the letters KFC.

It actually looks like a stamped basket intended to have a ferrite motor bolted on it...and simply didn't get one. There's really no evidence that it has a magnet at all IMO

The CF cone is very light though...it won't be too hard to make it change directions. Lower mass would mean a lower force that the joint would have to endure...

Yeah I can see it being just fine with pushing motions, but pulling? I think it'll be tough to hold up there, but I wanna see how DC did it.

Back to the sub... If I had to guess, I'd say the former is adhered to the cone at the top edge and inside/outside surface of the former. It would be kinda neat if it was threaded into a mount on the back of the cone like how metal pipes are threaded, but the former material would have to be a lot thicker for that I think. If DC got fancy, they could have it be a one piece cone/former made fully of CF, but god only knows what that would cost them.

I've decided to sell some of the stuff I have in my basement. Up first we have a genuine GM 1970-71 Chevelle grille, never installed in a car. It's pretty dusty, but that's about it. (No emblem included) The GM part number on this is 3982409 if that helps. Asking $110 shipped but I'll consider offers. Second up is a used 1998-05 Chevy Impala "center" rear light - the long bar found on the trunks of those cars, with the two backup lights. It has minor scuffs from use, but the plastic still has its shine and isn't faded. Includes all mounting nuts/washers and wiring harness. Asking $75 shipped but I'll consider offers. Last is a couple of unused 12V Black & Decker batteries and their chargers. These are in great shape with no scratches etc. Asking $15 shipped per battery/charger set.

I'm not so sure it's the truck he'll be adding JDM parts to...though I could be wrong. JDM looks sweet if done properly. (ie PROPER JDM lights, emblems, mirrors, bodywork, interior, etc.)
