  1. Audiopipe and Audioque makes good and cheap amps. But there is a sale going on at Sundown Audio this month. A 1000 w is about 275 IIRC. Just get an amp and a good box. Buy a voltmeter to know if you really need new alt and new batt. Do the big 3 in 1/0.
  2. You'd better start with one sub one amp(like the AQ1200) and a big custom box. Don't be cheap on the Ported box ! Try a15" AQ hdc, or a Fi BL or SSD, for examples. DC makes good subs too !! Keep money for a 2 channel amp and a component set for for your front speakers. With so much bass, your OEM speakers won't be good or powerful enough. If you keep your stock h u, get a serious LOC to avoid bad noise. You need a 0 ga amp kit. Don't need new alt or 2nd battery with this kind of system! I forgot Second skin Damplifier for deadening the doors and the trunk. THAT is a very very good system for a starter! Too good!!
  3. All kind of cars can have this problem. American car makers needed to do something to make money ! So, they found something to hurt the n°1 selling cars in your country, and with all the medias talking....It started like that! BTW Toyota calls back most of their new models in Europe : auris, yaris, prius,..etc saying it is just for checking. Now, they try to take advantage on this problem.
  4. You want maximum pressure, for sure ! (like SPL : Sound Pressure Level) But maximum vibrate ???!!! No !!! Maybe you can show the OP how to use all 4 speaker outputs on his amp to achieve a 1 ohm load with his 2 subs? I don't know where to find that diagram.
  5. There is a sale going on Sundown amps. They "make their power" at 12.8v. Real power. On the cheap you can also try the Audiopipe 1800 or the MBQuart dsc 2000 (or something like that) : this one is really cheap for 2000 watts. You may just need one extra battery in the trunk. Buy a voltmeter and watch out!
  6. X2 Maybe it's about the same price, but 1000 watts vs 2500, damn !!!
  7. Go Sundown : sae 1200, or saz 1000 or 1500. FTW ! It's real power, not marketing gimmicks!!! AS they told you, you can get them from db-r.com or from Sundown : they have a dedicated forum here, and Jacob, the owner, is on line everyday. He answers all questions. And deliver everywhere in the world. Look at their warranty : amazing !
  8. No problem from my computer. With my Blackberry, I can't see any pics, and I must refresh to load ans see a topic. It would be great to have a Lo-Fi version for mobile phones.
  9. Do you have room for 2 subs ? You can easily run 2 bls with 1500 watts, but it won't give you max output !!! Maybe you could still beat your friend's cvr's. Try at least a 2000 watts amp to give each sub 1000 watts (like they're ratings say). Just one bl can handle 1500 watts rms of non clipped signal. Get a well built custom box : it's the most important part !
  10. $2000 and you want...5000watts rms ? Maybe, ONLY if you find real gooooood deals on used equipments ! 1 hu + 2 amps + speakers + subs + wiring(rcas, power, grd), accessories + box building + ...... And you have to install it yourself. For 2 grands? Start thinking smaller, with the possibility to upgrade later. You have a good amount of money to start a good system you won't have to sell to upgrade. Read as much as you can, here, and ask some questions if need be. Good luck
  11. If you want to bang on a tight budget, take a look at the Clarion and MBquart amps : they're really cheap, well known brands, do rated power,... But BOSS ? no way !!!
  12. Some people wants to pay more for less product, with the dynamat logo on it!!! More seriously, I think Dynamat is well known(lots of ads, tv shows,...), and it's sold quite everywhere, not only on the internet. So, you might have heared of Dynamat and not Secondskin. Some people call this product dynamat, whatever brand it is !
  13. x2 check all the grounds(for the amp, the battery,...). Even if you don't do the big 3. Something is going bad with the grounds, because this is not enough power at all to have voltage drops.
  14. I have 1000 watts rms on my sub, and 200+ watts on my front speakers. With my stock electrical system; I have form 0 to 0.1 voltage drop when playing at full tilt. So, 250 watts : a joke for a car !!! What gauge size do you run on your batt for + AND for - . They should be the same size, and big enough (try some 4 ga at least). You can do the big3, but it seems that you have another problem : 250 watts is too low to make your voltage drop.
  15. You need room in your trunk ? Get one (or two monster) 10" in a custom ported box and that's it !!! Look at DC audio, FI bl, ...
  16. Congrats for your purchase ! What was your last instal ? A Sundown 3500 is a beast, not less powerful than the t4000 IMO. I hope your car will be ready for so much bass !!!
  17. lol I tried to help him, but he really does not deserve it. We did not learn enough in school for him ! But, I don't know if he knows what is a school !!!
  18. You don't need to use caps. Maybe you have a blown pico fuse like a lot of Pioneer hu. I fixed mine last week for less than $50 locally ! I'm so happy !!! If you're in a hurry : try to ground your rca's on a solid ground point on the car (behind the hu). Use some small speaker wires. That may help you reduce the noise, but it won't fix it totally. If your hu is still on warranty, you could send it to Pioneer. It's just a guess, because I am not sure that's your problem. You're a so good writer !!!
  19. soundsolutionsaudio.com : they have it on their shop. I have already bought 4 Sundown amps from them. And they are shipped directly from Sundown !!! I got them, each time, in about 5 days (I live in a small french island in the Caribbeans !!!).
  20. The bigger, the better !!! If you do a wall, why don't you try 2 subs? I would go DC or FI (bl or btl).
  21. Your enclosure is not so big for 2 15" . And you gave total volume, without port and sub displacement. Try to make it bigger. just my 2 cts.
