I went with the Kenwood x693 and installed it yesterday. So far so good and it sure in the hell beats that piece of shit I had before.

Can you set the illumination to a pure white color?

Can that clarion be set to a white color? I mean pure white with no hint of other colors.

The clarion I researched is a good SQ unit for the price but is pretty ugly to me in the light like those women on the corners. There is an Alpine 9886 on ebay for $200 shipped also. I'm not really liking the lack of features in the Alpines like a simple adjustment for the mids. I'm also not trying to waste money on imprint from some random person when I know I will change a setting and it gets erased. What ever of these has the best quality in sound, and has less problems and does not break as often is for me. I have money right now waiting to spend on one of these except the Clarion which I will have to save some monies.

Why would you even with with a 18" in the first place in such a small car? Why not a 15" instead at least. You could have made a better box for the 15" too.

It's called the swiss cheese mod. The only benefit will be the noise. No performance gain at all and most likely will decrease power. Just get a CIA if anything.

Got it to turn on, but couldn't find an amp option to turn off or on. I turned the radio off and held FUNC for a few seconds and it gave me more options. I did not see anything about the internal amp. I think the amp is gone. It was working when pulled out though.

Just tried to hook it up directly to the battery. It didn't even turn on or light up at all. :censored: And it's a 6500 not the 7500.

Speaker wires. I'll have to hook it up directly to a battery since the pioneer harness is short on wire length. I have to buy a new one. I'm going to check for a reset button, and amp on/off selection later today.

The headunit has been sitting for a while in a box in a safe place. Been sitting for about 2 years. Well that may be it. I don't know how to hook up the on board amp though. I wired up the REM blue cable fromt he pioneer to the blue wire to the wiring harness.

Not sure about the model number but it looks exactly the same. So my problem is I can hear the beeps the stereo makes, but no sound, not even static from my speakers. Right now I have a head unit in there from the previous owner. I took his out and put mine in there and wired it up completely the same was I took his off. My Pioneer boots up and all. I can switch and play with everything, but no sound at all from the speakers. I changed to a CD and even the radio and turned the volume up. NOTHING. Anyone know what the problem can be? Also, I hooked up the PO's stereo and it's working.

Too bad I'm new and have no idea what's going on.

I haven't heard it yet. I hope it's not his "new" style.
