  2. No updates at this time. I would say they will not be available before the end of the year if i was guessing.
  3. If it is sitting at 13V after being off othe charger for 12-24hrs then the resting voltage is good. You would still want to have it load tested to make sure it holds a load well.

  6. No a 12V or 16V charger will not charge 14v batteries. The voltage charge rate is different. The HF1415 is the only charger that will charge 14v batteries and it acts as a maintainer after the batteries are fully charged. All of our chargers are intellichargers and turn into maintainers after the batteries are fully charged.

It does look like you were shipped the inccorect length of bolts for what you need, so if you will email us [email protected] we can send you the correct hardware. It was probably packaged incorrectly here at the warehouse. The groove around the top of the 925 is normal. That is just the way the top sits down on the case. It looks like there is a little f fthe epoxy that was left on the terminals, so you could use a wire brush or even a scotch pad and rub the epoxy off. Actually if you will scuff up the pads on batteries prior to hooking your terminals up you will get a little performance gain. Its nothing huge, but getting the coating off othe pads will actually get you better connection. Just shoot us an email or give us a call and we will get it taken care of for you.
  8. if you are worried about the battery beign by the radiator, then I would either get the metal case for the battery, or go to your local auto parts store (autozone, pepboys, or where ever) and purchase a heat shield wrap for the battery. They are pretty cheap (under $20) and can save your investment on the battery. One of the guys here has had his 975 under the hood in his car for 6 years now with no problems, but if the radiator is right on top of the battery it can cause a build up of heat.
  9. Ok think I understand this, but maybe not. I think you had a power and ground from the front to the back. Then you had another ground in the back, but it was loose? You shouldn't have hurt the batteries, but you had one of two things going. If you had the two back batteries hooked together (pos to pos and neg to neg), then you just were not getting the top performance from the system due to the back ground being loose. If you didn't have the two back batteries connected, then you were pulling all of your power from the one battery that was grounded to the front battery. This woudl be cutting your reserve capacity in half. Either way after you get the grounding issue corrected you shoudl be good to go with better performance. I would watch charging with the Ctek charger if it is one of the low amperage trickle charger types. It will take a very long time for a 2amp or less charger to charge up those two batteries if they were drained very low.
  10. Think there was any way the fan could have been rubbing up against something and made that sound? If it was the fan then what ever it was rubbing up against could have trimmed the fan blades and made it stop. I have no clue really. Never heard of that before.

  12. If you are not going to be competing, then I would suggest the XP3000. Less expensive and if you aren't putting it on a meter you will never know the difference.
  13. XP is a secondary power source with more capacity. S/D series has a faster discharge rate with more instantaneous power and can be used as a starting battery.

  16. The more you can add the more reserve capacity you will have. I do not try to push 3100s on everyone. If they don't need it and will not see a huge gain in getting one, then why have them waste their money? Lets say for simple calculations you are actually going to get 5000watts from your system, which would be around a 500amp draw. 40 amps of draw to run your vehicle and the accessories and other stuff you have hooked up other than the sub amps. This puts you around 540amps of draw. If you have a 270amp alt it is going to do in the 270-280amp range at the optimal RPM range and probably in the 165-185amp range at idle. So at optimal charge rate lets say you are going to get 280amps out of the alt. That puts you 260amps behind on power that will be pulling directly from the batteries. With three D975 you are looking at about 87amps of pull from each battery. You are going to see the voltage drop, because you do not have enough power to keep up with your system. Now if we look at idle you are going to still have the 540amp pull with lets say 185amps of charge. This puts you 355amps behind on power and you will be pulling about 119amps per D975. You will see a larger drop of course. You need capacity in the back to keep up with the amperage draw you will have on the system. Adding batteries to the system will give you more capacity, and the size really just depends on what works best with your system, budget, and the room you have to work with. You could add the XP series or the D/S series batteries to the bank with no problems at all. Not sure what the vehicle is, but if you can fit a large enough battery up front then you may not need anything in the back. I would suggest hooking your 975s up and seeing what your voltage does. That will give you a good idea of what you are dropping to, and then you can add on as needed.
  17. You will see voltage drop with 3 D975 on 5000watts with a 275amp alt.
  18. We do not have a stock replacement for that group size. Most have used the 3400, but you would want to measure and make sure it will work for you.
  19. 3400 under the hood and then 2 D3100 in the back.
  20. 12V, 14V, or 16V? Daily, competition, or demo use? Vehicle? Alternator power? How much room do you have for batteries?
  21. That year came with the option of a Group 65 or 59 battery. Just measure to make sure the D6500 will work for you, but I am pretty sure it will work.
  22. Depends on the year of the truck but most use the D6500 to replace the group 65 battery in them. They will hold up fine in the colder weather.
