  1. Come by our booth (Booth 23512, Central Hall) at SEMA next week, and check out the new products we have available. I will be out of the office next week at SEMA, so if you need anything hit me up before Friday or the 2nd week in Nov. Should have pics and updates from the show on our facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/xspower
  2. As long as it is GM style alt it will work fine. You can run one alt, two alts, or whatever you like.
  3. Actually I would take 8 D3400s over 5 D3100s. You will have a LITTLE less capacity with the 8 D3400s, but you will get a LOT more power out of 8 D3400s. Really the price difference is minimal with either purchase in a build like this.
  4. No the VCM will not work on the 2 pin.
  5. Do you have the two pin plug on your alternator or the 4 pin oval plug?
  6. Oh dang. I think someones order just got recalled................... how could that happen.
  7. Doesn't take much to be better than that. 12V
  8. Yes, and if you add an XS Power Decal you will hit in the 170s!
  9. Damn.............. I knew he was under estimating the power of the LEDs!
  10. I hear for every LED you add at least a DB to your score!!
  11. If you want to choose a battery to power a 5amp fog light for 24 hours to show off your system, then I guess AH is important in car audio.............lol
  12. As said above the AH rating is useless for car audio applications. It is a LOW amperage pull for EXTENDED (hours) periods of time. Car audio demands HIGH amperage pulls for SHORT periods of time with the ability to recover quickly. You need a battery with HIGH instantaneous power output that is designed for quick recovery.
  13. Damn that is a good set up! You should be very strong on electrical with that set up and 6 3400s in the back!
  14. If it were me and it didn't like the voltage over 16.6 I would probably just drop the voltage down in the mornings, because the alt is always going to charge higher on initial start up until it warms up. You could always add in the step downs if you wanted to drop the voltage down for your vehicle. With the step down you could run one of them and just have it hooked up to the fuse panel on the truck. It really depends on what you prefer.
  15. As Hotdog said they both increase the voltage of the entire electrical system. With the VCM your voltage is adjustable and not limited by your alternators variable voltage output.
  16. If you have a 6500 under the hood and 3 3400s in the back you will good until you want to add to the battery bank. The 6500 is a strong battery to have under the hood!!!
  17. I personally would run 5 D3400s for competition use for that system if I were going to use the 3400s. You could probably get away with 3 or 4 though depending on the application use though.
  18. That is strange, because we have a few other guys running them with no problems. A step down could always be used for that system. You would just need to locate where that part of the 12V system comes in and hook the step down up. It would be interesting to see what the voltage is reading at your brake sensors.
  19. If you are still running the 4 pin oval connectors, then you would need 1 XSP310 Controller, 1 XSP300 main harness, and 2 XSP303 harnesses.
  20. Why type of alt harness do they have? 4 pin oval? Are the alts self excite or do you have power running to them?
  21. I'm not sure what would cause that unless one of the regulators was different than the others, or if one of them failed???
  22. With the 3400 both are reinforced, but do not have a metal case so both batteries are the same. The only difference is the S3400 comes with top posts and the D3400 is ready to use ring terminals. Either one would be fine for you.
  23. Yeah you could use the 1200 as your starting battery and the 3400 in the back and be fine.
