The big 3 needs to be your first priority. Then add 1 battery in the back. Buy a decent charger to keep them charged a few times a week. Then once you can afford it buy an alternator. I would go with mechman personally, they have great customer service, quick turn around, and very good prices.

I would look into adding a step down module to the some of the cars electronics.

Just call either company they can help you out. I just bought a Mechman and it shipped the same day I ordered. They make a very good alt...just my .02 cents

I am running 2 separate charging systems. #1) Iraggi 260 alt in stock location charging front 6500. 1 run of 1/0 running to back for 4 channels. #2) Mechman 270 w/adj voltage in dual location charging back 3400s running only the warhorse. Nothing conecting the front and back batteries or the 2 alts.

My back batteries are grounded to the frame in the back. It was explained to me by Matt at Mechman that to make separate charging systems work properly that there could be no common wires between my front and back batteries. Now I did not ask specifically about grounds I just assumed that the only wires running to my back batteries should be 1+ and 1- from the alternator.

I would definitely look into adding a 2nd alt. I have 2 270 amp alts on my 06 f150 and my voltage drop is actually less with just the dual alt charging my back batteries. It has something to do with the CPU in the car wanting to try and control the voltage that the alternator is charging at. It was explained to me that this is why my voltage at idle would just go anywhere from 13.6-14.6. Now with the alts charging separately everything seems to be running smoother. If you go this route you can also run your 4 channel amps off the front battery that way the only amp your back batteries are running is your sub amp.

I dont know the details of your system but if you have multiple alternators I would suggest letting your stock location alt run your front battery at 14v and then dedicating your other alt/alts to powering your 16v setup, just to avoid any problems with the cars electronics not liking 16v+. If you dont have a multiple alt setup ignore everything i just said and I hope you figure out your problem.

Get the tracking number and have the package turned around.

I have 3 that should be at my house right now along with a 6500 for under the hood and a 12/16 charger. I am waiting to sell my kinetiks to get 3 more 3400s so I have more than enough and can have a balanced look. I plan on putting 3 on either side of the charger.

I think there needs to be some type of rules or guidelines for VS threads. Something along the line of whoever starts the thread needs to state specifics about what he/she wants to know between the 2 products in question. Not just hey whats better AA or DC. Maybe a set of basic questions to go along with the Products to help get a fair opinion. Example I actually started this one but SMD vs LVL 5 and now a list of questions for the OP to answer 1) Budget 2) Vehicle 3) Amps--how much power you plan on running 4) Electrical--what electrical upgrades are in the vehicle now/how many extra batteries and what Alts are being run 4) Space available for box Im sure there are many more questions that can be added but I think this would be a good start and would help get rid of brand nut hugging. With specific info about the build from the start it would be much easier to stay on topic and get the OP much better info about the products they are asking about.
