I don't know if its older or not and no I haven't installed an alarm before but I actually enjoy learning how to do stuff even if it's really complicated.

Okay so I recently bought the Viper 5701 alarm and there are a lot of wires if someone knows of a wiring diagram or of something that can help me figure it out that would be a great help. This is going in a 2004 Ford Ranger and I have a chart that says what most of the wires are so any help would be appreciated. In my opinion I would say just go with what you prefer if you can get them around the same price.

Put a switch on the constant or he could have put on on the wire that makes it turn on when the car is on.

Thanks. You know now that I think about it I actually read that topic once.

Ok so for my graduation present from my great aunt I asked for an alarm for my truck (cause she has money and my parents don't) and she said ok give my a price and I'll write a check. So I dont want to ask for like 400-500 dollars cause that would be mean but I was thinking maybe the 200-350 dollar price range and I would like to have a two way remote on it and like a mile of range because I probably wont always be close to my truck at college so any suggestions are welcome. ^^^ x2 But if you can't afford an oscope (like me) maybe find a shop that uses them in your area or another member of SMD that has one and can help you.

Not sure on that part but I doubt you will need any processors for your bass stuff maybe for mids and highs but again I don't know for sure. A few batts wouldn't hurt either.

Big three in some 1/0 awg and HO alternator also make sure to ground to frame.
