Hey guys, I'm doing a school project on how the immune system works and my teacher wants us to create a 3D model to exemplify how it works. I was thinking of showing a chemical reaction where one substance sort of engulfs and destroys/absorbs/neutralizes another substance. My two ideas were setting fire to some gasoline to show how fever (fire) eliminates the toxin (gasoline) or how saliva "attacks" and breaks down starches (like bread). Anyone have any ideas that I could show in a classroom but still be kind of cool?

how did you build your own cross over? -
anyone around/near NH hit me up, I'd like a box or two built as well!

Ipod eq's aren't very good in general, they don't let you adjust as much as you'd like, and they aren't really all that helpful especially with a custom system...if you use your own eq, you can get all your settings correct to get as loud as possible without clipping or blowing anything up as well as optimize sq

dude I love him for the same reasons, echo is one of my favorites, he's truly one of a kind and deserves way more respect and publicity than he gets... he's kinda like a black eminem, so to speak... -

Wangin' on a small scale?
bumpinTL364 replied to bumpinTL364's topic in Pro Audio / Home Audio / Home Theatre
...yet another question. does anyone have any experience with audio distribution boxes? I haven't done any reading up on these yet but it sounds like they could fix my problem with having too much wattage going to my highs and mids -
Quick question--Speakers vs. Mids and Highs
bumpinTL364 replied to bumpinTL364's topic in Mid's and highs
ah sorry guys, didn't know I'd be this confusing... here's a link to "speakers" http://www.parts-express.com/wizards/searchResults.cfm?srchExt=CAT&srchCat=955 now that you point it out they really are the same thing... I guess what I was getting at is if a "speaker/driver" were to have enough range to produce the frequencies of both a mid-bass driver and a tweeter (I know this doesn't even sound right to me, but I know I've heard my woofer playing mid-bass parts with the cross-over setup to do so), would it be more efficient/cost effective and sound just as good as using a tower that included two separate drivers for mid-bass and highs? -
I'm looking into building a small 2.1 system for my room and want to know what kind of differences I would see if I used "speakers" or made small towers with a mid-bass driver and tweeter, both hooked up to just a sub and multi-channel amp. I don't really feel like I need much mid-bass because I'm building this system to focus on getting lower and louder, but sound/track quality is definitely a priority. Keep in mind my room is SMALL, I'm going to use either 3 4"s or 2 6.5"s for my bass set-up, so nothing drastic.

Wangin' on a small scale?

new question: if i do re-do the highs/mids, whats the difference between a speaker and tweeter+mid bass setup, besides wiring, box style, etc? -

thanks man. I'm also thinking of trying out some kind of funky box designs to just get to know how to do things right and gain experience with porting/venting and everything. maybe like a 4th order or bandpass just for fun and to say i've built one -
Hey all, I'm in a tiny-ass dorm room and want a little wang but don't have the need, space, or budget to do something large. I'm thinkin of doing 3 4"s or 2 6.5"s (any suggestions??) I currently have a coby 2.1 system with the woofer (4") inverted. The main problem i'm running into is finding the right amp to power some woofers and my mini "towers", which are 15 watts per speaker and 35 for the woofer. I want to keep the high-range cuz i already have the money invested in this system, but i haven't been able to find anything that i could mix properly to get the proper amounts of power and channels to run them with another sub. I guess what im looking for here is if anyone has any experience doing this type of thing and could suggest componants and/or companies to look at.
