  1. there was similar shit here in downtown toronto also..first the ps3 obviously, and then a Wii...fuckin cunt buckets..(i didn't line up, just saw it on the news)
  2. how reliable is it?.. how well does it stand up against the t4004, or the hifonics 6406..or other amps in the same category..I have a similar setup to 'drews p162s comps front stage (tweets are in the door). 3.5 mid ranges dash, and 4-way 6x9s (RF) in the back... i have a friend who had the NINe4 & the NINe1 he wasrunning an SX & some eDi6500s didnt fail on him for a whole year. he sold all his equipment when he sold his SUV. i have an Avionixx 440.4 its pretty much the same as the NINe4 no problems yet how is it in terms of SQ compared to the t4004

  4. awesome vid :^ priceless reactions.. ha
  5. well I'm tryin to look for a good deal on the RF..but if i can get a awesone amp at a better price, then i might just switch over...pm me and let me know if you do have something :^ ty
  6. I've heard nothing but good reviews on US amps..how is it compared to the t4004... my car is all rockford, but i'm open to anything that's worth it and give me the quality/power I need, oh and do you have any hook ups on that amp for that price edit: I just researched on that amp..it's expensive (for me at this time right now anyway), but looks awesome
  7. as it is for me...I don't wanna give up sound quality..because I've been looking around and these other amps have gotten good reviews, so I was unsure which have the best quality and power...
  8. nope, thx for the input
  9. would you mind explaining why'd u choose RF over the others please? need to get some wise advice :^
  10. alrighty, so recently I was going to acquire a RF t4004 4 channel amp, and well I got caught up with some personal stuff and that didnt happen..i was actually getting one for cheap too...anyways..I have been looking at the MA AUDIO KH598 model..it's quite nice from the ratings I've seen..do any of you have personal experience with Ma audio amps in general, or more specifically this model?... Currently I have RF P162S components in the front, RF 3.5 inch speakers at the dash, Rf 6x9s 4-way in the back...these speakers are rated as follows... 1. 3.5 P132C is rated at 15wrms 2. 6.5 P162s components are rated at 60wrms 3. 6x9s are rated at 75wrms.. now I have been looking at quite a few amps...also i WILL be getting better speakers in the near future, so that put the RF 450.4 out of the question, because some of the speakers (focal,rf power, etc) i been lookin at demand a decent rating.. so my choices came down to... 1. RF T4004 http://sonicelectronix.com/item_7544.html 2. MA audio HK598. http://sonicelectronix.com/item_3754.html 3. Hifonics Zxi 6406 http://sonicelectronix.com/item_6519.html what would you pick out of these 3 if any... and can you guys suggest any other amps given the price range (in the links)
  11. say when you do use the tones to set the gain... do you use a -3db or 0db and why? oh and also can you explain me the master/slave stuff? I got a t4004 on the way .. so all the t4004 amps(general example) that are attached to the intial t4004 will follow the same gain setting if I set this one to master and the others to slave?
  12. I'm not sure with that pioneer model, but the N1, N2, N3 models, you gotta do some modding, not sure what though..check around google to see what's easier to mod to bypass the e-brake..I have a kenwood 617 and mine worked out easily, no modifications or anything required
  13. I use 50hz -3db ...what's the real difference with the 0db and the -3db...the -3db tone is MUCH louder than the 0db..so if I used the 0db to set my gain, shouldn't it be higher than if it was set with the -3db?
  14. traded in my pioneer 8600 for a Kenwood KVT-617 ... awesome unit :^
  15. right now my amp is tuned with the boost to max..i set the gain to match 34.6volts 50hz 3db tone..songs usually wont go anywhere near that...i tested the voltage on a few songs..didnt climb over the rated voltage..anyhoo I'm pretty sure it's fine..thx for your input
  16. this is from roe forum.. person 1: "but i tuned mine with the knob at +18 "max" so incase i wanna crank it up all the way... it won't distort or clip... just be pretty much max without hurting it..." person 2: "setting your gain properly means no clipping at max undistorted HU volume... any sort of boost would would be like taking your HU beyond its max undistorted volume. you might as well just guess your gain setting and crank the volume. taken straight from my autotek mm4000.1d manual: "it is important to remember that a boost applied at any frequency. or range of frequencies, will cause severe amplifier clipping."" Me: "so i tried settings my gains the two diff way 1. with boost at max..and my gains set accordingly.. 2. without boost, and gains set accordingly.. now, others have told me it's better to set the gains without the boost, and you can apply boost afterwards..but when i set my gain without any boost or anything and applied boost AFTER. my voltage skyrocketd to about 60s and 70s..didnt seem right to me...and others are saying that it should be fine.. i used a 50hz test tone at -3db amp should be rated at 34.6 volts" any comments?
  17. what he said
  18. i noticed steve's using the power series boost control and what it seems like that he turns the boost to max (in the vids) ..does this cause any extra clipping since the boost is at MAX if the gains are set the way they should be ..(matching or under the rated volts)
  19. yeah I know, I used the wrong url, would've been a lot easier :V but thx!
  20. so I'm finally done setting up everything..looks purrty..pics are up in this thread..they're not the greatest and arent so detailed..didnt have much time left.. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/forums/in...hp?topic=1474.0
  21. appologies in advance, the pictures are blurry, i took em with my phone, they arent much detailed..so i Do appologize..there wasnt much time for me to take them :V This is the old deck -- Pioneer deh8600 in comes the New! only if I could find good double dins for a decent price here, would be a nice fit breaking stuff apart.. before the clean up..eek the mess :V after the clean up (all the wires were cleaned at zip tied as well.. before after--brain was moved after that..now it's hidden and not in the open.. and this be the video - i was watchin chunk up the duece http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1...023677259402172 my lil bass knob idea worked out well..i talked about it in the head unit forum.. now i gotta wait for my 4 channel and 2nd pair for tweets..and we'll be good to go! any comments/suggestions/criticism?

  23. I just took the car into my stores install bay..redid a lot of stuff..got my sub doing parallel now the proper way , and tuned my amp using a MM..holy mother fuckin snakes on a plane..i been underpowering my sub for months I had the gain so low because I was scared to wreck it..I tuned the amp using a 50hz tune at -3db..then played my regular hop music... LOVED THE OUTPUT :^ got my bass control goin too,but that's gonna be hidden soon one more thing...I tuned my amp with using sub lvl +6..because I figured I want that setting anyway with eq flat and loudness OFF..so my gain won't be AS high and as long as i'm not over the rated voltage i'm good to go..correcT? glad you got that all figured out... i knew we could get ya up and running right... although imho (using meades little internet jargon thread) i would personally change the sub lev lower and the gain higher... in the end it all comes out to be pretty much the same but hu's usually dont run very clean when you reach high volumes so i would rather send a cleaner signal from the hu then risk sending a dirty one... doesnt matter how clean the amps signal is if the signal from the hu is already clipped. awesome..this coming sunday im gonna rip out stuff anyway, and I'm gonna do the finishing tweaks then...but I get what you mean, im gonna do the final tuning on sunday after everything is in..(except the 4 channel)..ill let u guys know how it goes.. thx for all ur help :^
