  1. I never knew a honda is the same as a ford. If you're going to say that, you might as well say that there are thousands of wall builds. He was asking about fords.
  2. pics if any Build log in my sig Mmmmmmmmmmmmm, Ford Falcon.... You still down for that demo?
  3. In a Ford EF falcon? What are you looking to find? Pics or just wether it is possible or not?
  4. My problem too, I found the issue was my system. It just wasn't big enough, 1 18" and 3K definitely meant that something was wrong. It's being fixed now, 2 walled 18"s and 10k should be all good for a bit. I'm sure that will get old too though.
  5. A wall sure would look awkward with the top down, you'd have to make a bis fiberglass trim panel over the back to make it look nice. Not to mention that your roof would get more excursion then the subs.
  6. Lol. 4 15s, and sounded great. WOW. I have yet to hear anything over 150db, that sounds great. Why does people think SPL subs is suppose to sound like the Cheapest equipment distorted to the max. I'll ask, why did they sound great? You sound a bit trollish today. Maybe have a rest and come back later? Not to be rude, but you do sound a bit like you're bashing the crap out of DD.
  7. Their site has an epic fail in the high end separates section, they have a paragraph about tweeters for the w6.5, and repeat that paragraph for the DDA with no explanation about the mid driver from the set.
  8. You sure it won't fit? It's amazing what you can fit through the opening. Otherwise, door off, you'll just wreck the box otherwise.
  9. My 2 12's on 5000watts slams.. And I only got the gain 1/2 way up. So that makes me a wannabe? And how did you set that gain? EDIT: lol, I fail, you is mod and pro, not n00b. Sorry.
  10. funny part is, physics says that a sealed box should be louder lol. proof that audio just doesn't make sense. really? lol, why is that? It isn't in the real world though, so he still sounded like an idiot.
  11. Once, this guy I know asked me why my box was so big (half wall, 1 18") I just said that it makes it louder and play lower (so he could understand it, didn't want to get technical) what he said next was a classic. He said "oh, my mate said that small sealed boxes are louder" I laughed a bit and just told him that his mate is most certainly wrong.
  12. Pentagons Sony FTW! wait... spherical subwoofers? I'm guessing that's what 4 dimensional people have in their cars? lol
  13. Go for round, squares are just a gimmick, be it a pretty good one. Look, round speakers have been around for the longest, and they do the job perfectly, so no need to get squares.
  14. More wall work tomorrow? Same time again or different?

  15. Huh? Turning over? When you guys say 'warm up' you know that the surround and spider aren't going to gain much heat. Only a very minor amount from friction in the material. Otherwise, you'd have to thrash the heck out of the coil to warm up the whole sub, and if you do that, you've been playing it loud anyway. Unless you mean something else? Warm up from the heat in the car from the heater playing the sub will just loosin it up a bit Exactly, makes sense. So a better way for everyone to word their sentences would be: "have the heater on for a bit until the car has warmed up, until then, don't play the subs to loud" Instead of: "Just warm them up by playing them at lower volume for a bit" See what I mean?

  17. What's the point in a big ass alt if you have no decent battery to get topped up with any extra power you aren't using? Unless you're going to have your car running every time you play music, you'd be better off with batteries. And batteries can supply way more current than an alt can for shorter amount of times. You could pull 1,000 amps from a big battery for a few seconds with no problem, you can't do that with an alt though without putting heaps of strain on it. Batteries supply current, as do alts. If you didn't have current, you wouldn't have power, you wouldn't have freaking electricity. Batteries just store their power in a chemical form, while alts convert movement into it.
  18. It isn't a giant ported box, it is a giant bandpass. If you have a sealed sub it is a 4th order, if you have a ported it's a series tuned 6th order. If you have anything else then it's just some strange trippy bandpass thing.
  19. A bigger size? Lol. Idk right now. I might be able to help later.
  20. Squaro-ports? I saw a post a while back (this question gets asked to many damn times) and it said that round ports have less surface area on the inside of the port, so therefore less air resistance in the port. That was probably the worst description of it, but you get the idea. The flare just helps to stop turbulence at the mouth and (if flared too) tail of the port. A somewhat interesting page for those who like reading and graphs: http://www.subwoofer-builder.com/flare-testing.htm
  21. Should sound better than sitting on the back seat, but why don't you try it and tell us? It's just 15 or so minutes of box moving/testing.
  22. Just a.bit of constructive criticism, you should make the box walls thicker. A single layer is way too thin for such big subs. Looking good otherwise though
