So the depth of the port should be almost the same as the depth of the box?

Similar thing happened to me with my Dc XL. It sounded horrible at higher volume, and when i actually stepped out of my truck and took a look at it, it was the dust cap seperating from the woofer. Just got the new cap and glue today, and have it sitting in my truck with about 5lbs on it to let it sit and dry.

Thats what i was thinking was around 35-37hz.

I was going to go with a AQ2200 before i came up on this crescendo. From what i read, Aq is damn good and uses a clip indicator on the remote gain knob for easy indication of clipping. Also i think youll get 2200, and i called AQ and they told me that you can run this at .5ohm and it will hadle it with proper electrical, but it will void your warrenty

So i need some help with a box. Ive never built a box before. I have a DC XL 18 off a Crescendo 3k at .7ohm. Sub will be up and port back. So what i have to work with is 49"w.16"h. 20"d. I still need to be able to use some of the cargo area for strollers and diaper bags ( 2 year old and a newborn at home). This obviously will be in my daily driver. I used torres box calculator to start with, but really need help with the port. How do you determine how much port length to use and which type? Do you use aero's, slot,etc.... I will use a double baffle and likely 1" dowels for bracing. Any input would help. Would like to get this done in the next week or two ( meca coming up and would like to see what it does ) Just some info, i listen to all types of music except country, but mostly Rap.

I would do the kolossus. If i would have known about cca and ofc with my first build, i would have just bought ofc. With my re-build i just did, i ran two runs of knu klmx cable ( 2+ and 2- ) from the previous build between the primary and secondary batteries, the ran kolossus from the second battery to the amp. If I had the money to do so, I would have done everything in OFC cable this time around. I just diddnt want to waste the 50ft of cable I had laying around.

I called DC yesturday and they are sending me the glue and a new dust cap ( diddnt like the blue color ), so should have it hear tommorrow.

I just installed a XL 18 in my truck on thursday, and have been hearing a popping noise when i start to turn it up. It sounded like a blown sub, so today i went out and turned it up to see if maybe the box was leaking, or something going on with the sub. The dust cap is starting to lift on one side, and slaps against the woofer causing the noise. So was wondering, what do you seal it with? Should i remove it completly and re-seal it, or maybe ill buy another dustcap and replace it. If i go that route, can someone p.m. me a price for replacement dustcap?

How long should you break in the sub? I just installed my xl on a crescendo 3k and wondering how long. I play it 2/3 volume and keeping it coo on the gain ( scoped gains with remote gain knob all the way up).

What I'm doing is running dual runs of knu cca to the rear battery, the from the rear battery run some ofc to the amps. Total rms- around 4500. Will ne doing this hopefully this weekend.

The nitto invos are nice tires. My boy has some on his vette and they stick nice around corners. He actually raced on them and everyone was talking shit, until he shit on them once the race was over

Is this being used as a sub amp or are you power some door speakers with it?

So run two fuses inline between the front and rear batteries, then a fuse between the secondary battery to the amp. Should the fuses between the two batteries be the total of what the amps would he pulling, so for instance 300 for the sub amp and 60 for a 4channel for a total of two 360amp fuses?

What I did when i bought my rims, was looked around at what i liked. Then went to the manufacturer website and looked to see who sold them in my area. Called around and asked differant questions to see where i would get the best deal. Diddnt want to go with som Wanli, sunny type tires. The shop that I bought them from ordred teh rims and installed some Nittos for me. Also did a alighnment ( although I personally did one two months before). That was the best deal I found and was easiest for me

How about the Pioneer avh4300? I have the 4100 and love it. The 4300 comes with 8 band eq, 4v outputs, and option to run navi down the road.
