Little late to the party Congrats man! Looks like a solid boat, did you hit up Nooner? We stay the hell away from there... I used to go when I was younger, but I'm 34 now and married so what's the point? The wife and her dad had a 64' Chris Sea Skiff and found some guy to buy it for good money 2 years ago (boat was in ok shape) and snagged a 1977 31' Silverton (twin 318's) down in your neck of the woods (Jefferson and 59 area on a canal). The thing sat in a sling its whole life when not in use, hell the bottom wasn't even painted. You wouldn't recognize it now. Got it for 11, but now it has new canvas (mother in law made them), new carpet, new drapes, new stereo & speakers (up, down, and below), stripped off all the stupid stripes, redid all the teak, and the list goes on, and on, and on... We moved behind Wyandotte hospital a year ago, before that we were behind Speed Boat (near Pier 500). The wife and her dad were at Erma Henderson, then some place on the Clinton River, then the DYC before that is memory serves. I'll post a better pic later, this is all I have handy. I almost bought that amp, but the price was making me really nervous. While I'm glad I didn't get hosed it sucks to hear that someone did $850 for that amp just sounded too good to be true so I passed after talking with him. Contact Bill from DAT and see what he has to say.

The answer is as simple as can be. They do it because it's fun. Making intelligent decisions as as teenager is a rarity. Most of us have put ourselves in the same kind of situations which could have easily cost us our lives. When you are an adult and say that kids doing something like this is stupid you say it because you know from experience. You say it because you have lived longer, saw friends die, saw people from your town die, people you work with die, people in your family die, and the like. The ability to make better decisions comes with experience (experience that kids don't have) and while this accident is horrible it's one of those experiences that will wind up saving lives in the future. "We" don't look down on kids. Some of us don't pretend that we didn't make mistakes due to a lack of experience. It's not stupid, it's inexperience and while I would like to believe that you are a saint can you honestly say as a wrestler that you don't take risks? We had a guy in our class break his neck wrestling and has been bound to a wheelchair ever since. My buddies brother had a heart attack playing soccer and died right there on the field and there were plenty more. Everything we do has a risk and while sports have a greater margin for error things still do happen.

Bought a DC dual alt kit from him which shipped not an hour after I sent payment (got it yesterday as promised). I had asked that he call so we could talk about a couple questions I had regarding the fit of the kit and he didn't hessitate to call and go over it all in gory detail. Thanks man!

You're solid man, it's really hard to make a big mistake picking out parts ESPECIALLY for a rig that isn't for gaming. If it were me I would be going with NV over ATi because of the reasons I outlined (plus flash acceleration advances faster with NV), but the tech is in its infancy still and you can always add another card later. Just be sure you can't buy it prebuilt for less. It's hard to beat the big guys now days. Normally as long as you get more ram through New Egg it's cheaper. While many people have horror stories about Cyberpower you can custom build a PC through them and often times it's cheaper than NewEgg. I had no choice but to go with them with my last computer (I've been putting them together since 93) because it was $350 cheaper.

It depends where you are... If you zoom out a bit you can see the newer sections from the hue. They were supposed to start updating it every 6 months, but afaik their focus switched to Europe first because they have these stupid privacy laws where the pictures can only be up for 90 days or something like that.

It's a fire hazard not having another set of fuses near those rear batteries. If the wire is cut or exposed the fuses can blow but power from the rear batts will continue to flow up to that fuse block. Also double check where they grounded the batteries and the alts. At the very least make them refund you for the isolator, and add two more fuses before the rear batteries (the amps do have fuses too right). If they don't and you have a problem, your shit is going to go up like a match if you run into an issue with that cable and unless you carry tools there won't be a damn thing you can do about it. Really they should run 2 1/0 runs to the rear especially if that 1/0 is cheap wire as it could be rated well below 400a. One other thing about fuses... You have 400a total going to the rear (fused that is). If you have more than the 2 AQ 2200's on that line you don't have enough fuse because those two amps alone can draw up to 200 each, 400 total. If they refuse to rectify it contact the BBB, take it to another shop, get an estimate to have it done right, and talk to a lawyer.

Everything is about OpenCL what are you talking about? NV's SDK and driver for OCL run under the CUDA architecture they don't compete. OCL isn't like OGL my man, it's more than just graphics, it allows devs to pool a systems resources as a whole. It was created to run on everything and on any architecture... The hardware has to conform to the standard and the manufacturer has to create and maintain the tools (SDK) to allow developers to make use of the tech while beating the other guy. It is an investment when a company signs on to a standard (even though they created it) and creates a product around it as it costs them money. I didn't mean investment as in they have to buy 20% of Khronos EDIT: typo

I can't speak for those, but I have two sets of the TRC's and they are pretty good (I didn't pay what Sonic lists them for). He is double posting all over the place.

If you speed at all (2 over, 5 over, 10 over) you can't say that 5 over is ok, but 20 over isn't. The fact of the matter is speeding is speeding. When I mentioned AMD being broke I was talking about how they don't have the money to invest in OpenCL which is why NV is smoking them in that department (which is for things unrelated to graphics which is what this guys computer is all about).

Top notch for gaming not GPU processing... I bought a 920 18+ months ago and it has been running at 4ghz a core ever since. One of the best chips I've ever bought.

Everything is moving to the GPU. A stand alone card being for games only is 2008 talk... NV leads the way there as far as a push to move more things over to the GPU so for your own benefit I would go with NV or don't bother. AMD is broke and their RND shows it.
