im in here after the decision it seems but i agree with everyone else. without a wall, its more impressive if your hitting real hard. plus 3 18s is different, usually it would be 4 or 2. looking forward to the box

Those are the two major differences in the amps specs. And yes I know they aren't major. But you know what else bothers me about this? The rubi is more aesthetically pleasing. I think it's a better looking amp in general. And plus, you may think 20 watts difference won't matter, but it does. A few extra watts per speaker (within rated, no clipping) is a good thing, who wouldn't want that. Edit: THD Picasso - .03 THD rubi - .015 Again, tiny ass difference but a difference nonetheless you wont here that difference in power, and they way you said it in the first post was the sales guy was saying the Picasso had a smaller THD. thats what he said. so i looked and he was wrong. and it was an uber deal. i was getting this amp for 130 bucks. seriously thats a phenomenal price for this thing.

Long story short, I bought a Soundstream Rubicon 2.600 from some company on eBay for a ridiculous good price. I dealt with the company once before for a tarantula series amp and it worked great and the customer was super happy. Anyway this rubicon was for me. But I get a phone call today from some guy saying that there was an inventory mistake or something and they don't have any more 2.600. In place of that amp, he offered me a Soundstream Picasso 2.580. Here's the thing. Of course, as a salesman, dude talked up the Picasso like it was a huge upgrade over the rubi and he tried to throw out some stats on my like I would be impressed by it's harmonic distortion percentage versus the other amp. Whatever, he was doing his job. But what's made me upset is that upon visiting the soundstream website, it appears that the rubi is actually the better amp. In basically every way, including appearance. What do you think I should do? Let it slide and accept the Picasso that's comming? Or call up this guy tomorrow and tell him the deals off. I'm really torn on this one. Some specs just for comparison: Rubi - 2 x 300 @ 2 ohms 10-35000htz Picasso - 2 x 290 @ 2 ohms 10-20000htz The amp will be powering 4 6.75 mids.

I kill my battery in about, id say 4 minutes. my system is incredibly running off one stock walmart type batt and the factory alt, which is like 90 amps at most. its crazy that everything is still running. im looking forward to getting a dc power alt in there, fingers crossed for a 270, and a big ass xs power under the hood. and then eventually a second battery in the back.

you have a strange and disturbing avatar there bud. you also make some good points, especially about the police package. police cars have larger radiators, larger crank cases, transmission coolers and bigger oil pans so they can hold more oil. even the hybrid cars are outfitted with better cooling components. However, letting a car idle for a moderate amount of time while playing a system shouldn't drastically affect the engine temperature. I feel like this shouldn't really be an issue. just use common sense when your listening to music. if its 100 degrees out I dont even want to be sitting in the car with the air on. id rather just not be idling at all, let alone powering up 5 amplifiers and 30 speakers. if your careful with what you do, there shouldnt be any problems.

but guys there is no effing way id spend 2000 dollars on a set of horns (come on seriously?) especially for a beater car. and these little omega shits for 40 bucks are supposed to be loud and annoying. which is kinda the point, i mean i know its not gonna be anything like a train horn but it looks promising...

This is sort of security related... Does anyone run crazy horns in their cars? like train horns that have huge compressors? Its pretty crazy when you see an unsuspecting car that can blow you away with its horn. its happened to me before. but what do you think about a little air horn set up like this one: Cheap Horns For 40 bucks or less, getting one of these and hooking it up in my little beater (97 mercury mystique - 155k miles lol) might be fun. anybody got these? or hook them up to alarms?

donks can go so wrong so fast if you dont do everything right. its like you cant half ass one or it will look like garbage. i've seen ones i really like though. also i agree, they cant accelerate or handle for shit.
