  1. Well, I built a prototype stage, and it came out pretty well. 5/8" plywood (just to test) 2x4 frame in 4' x 2' sections (technically), 14x3" screws all around, and it came out REALLY stable. Both me and my father jumped on it and stood on it and it barely moved at all. Looking good so far, for a temporary solution..
  2. No problem man, I'd rather have too much criticism than too little. I actually was thinking about that, but I don't know how stable it would be...I'm going to try the 4x4's with bolts and see how that works. Just wish there was an easier way to keep them attached.
  3. Well, since nobody really had some advice (& now that I have some spare $$) I got a sheet of plywood (5/8") and some 2x4's & 14x3 wood screws. Put a prototype together. Frame held together great, and with the legs screwed in, the sucker was REALLY stable (alot more than I had thought it would be). Hoping to build the other tomorrow with some carrier bolts and some 4x4's hinged. 16" seems like the perfect stage height too, indoors & out. I will have pics tomorrow, we got toned out for a structure fire the minute I got done (literally...)
  4. Don't think it will fit. 13" long.
  5. Truck decided I need a new battery already, without even using my new stereo. Need at least one, if not two, group 34 batteries. Need them ASAP, at least one for sure. Lowest possible price shipped to 41129. Side terminals a big plus. Thanks!
  6. You guys might have seen my topic about a mobile stage design a while ago, and it's coming together soon. I'm going to be building a couple "prototypes" on Monday, although it shouldn't be hard at all. I'll be using 5/8" or 3/4" (more likely) plywood, 2x4 frame with 16" high folding legs. Just trying to figure out the best "floor" on it, been thinking about a spray-on/paint-on bed liner-type but not for sure. What would you guys recommend?
  7. Man, you're lucky. Anytime I've offered people to give them time to pay me, I always get screwed over. It sucks to live in a world where people are hard to trust, but you're one lucky SOB! Props dude.
  8. I've got it knocked down to something electrical, leaning towards my alternator. I tried to start the truck again, and it didn't want to stay alive. After a few attempts at starting it, running it at 2000-2500rpm for a min & letting it idle on its own, the battery was for sure dead. Luckily one of the committee member's nephews had a Chevy nearby and gave me a jump and after letting his truck charge mine, it started up & idled no problem.
  9. It revs up like it's nothing. Next time it happens I'll get a video. Lights dim some (mainly because voltage goes from 14v to 12v, so it's a toss up if it's an alt issue.
  10. Too many quotes. 2001 Chevy Z71 5.3 V8, service engine light flickers on occasionally, but not during this. Around 165k miles on it so far. I'm leaning more towards the alt. I don't think it's the pump exactly, because I can rev it and it runs stable when I have it revved. It doesn't sputter, just stalls if I let it get too low RPM-wise or let off the starter. If it is, looks like I'll be upgrading it sooner than expected. Anyone got a Vortec H/O alt?
  11. I went to start my truck the other day at the bar. Startup was fine, but as soon as I let off the ignition, the truck slowly died. Did it a couple more times, and it will stay alive if I keep the RPM's up. After a few minutes of driving, I managed to be able to let off the gas at a stop and it would stay alive. It only did it one more time, another night at the bar..My voltage sits around 14-14.4v when running, and I do have my setup on it (never blare it, my electrical's all stock right now). I'm planning to replace both very soon, but would this be a battery/alternator issue? Or does it sound like it's leaning more towards fuel pump/filter issue?
  12. As much as I hate to be a party pooper, I would honestly hate to see Steve try a big show, that usually ruins anything 99% of the time somehow. Props to him for being on something though at least, lol.
  13. Unfortunately this is true. But WV has it the worst sometimes.

  15. I've actually thought about doing this, just because of the stupidity of people. Front AND rear facing cameras.
  16. Where to start... 1. Kids shouldn't be playing in the road. 2. The assholes that watched it from the other side just keep going... 3. Everyone is too busy to hurry around the cars... Kid needs to say a prayer tonight. He's one lucky SOB.
  17. it says that video is private we cant watch it Hm, it should work if you have the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loDp72YdM7k
  18. I know some people have to play music in some form or fashion. Me, I play the soundboard But seriously, I've been working on my new setup (as you have seen by several topics) and had the chance to meet some awesome bands and work with them. Christian rock, bluegrass, classic rock, & a couple southern rock/country groups. Here's a couple vids of two of the groups I've worked with. The first one was a classic rock group that performed at a Relay For Life walk (hence why everyone's walking around) The other is a local southern rock group. The lead singer was featured in the Country Music Road To Fame competition at the Paramount Arts Center in Ashland, but his group was called literally 8 hours ahead of time to play tonight. Great group of guys & the lead has a lot of talent for sure. Both videos were taken with my iPhone, so not perfect CD-quality (but a Macbook will soon allow me to record). My sound system was used for both groups, and have had zero complaints so far from anybody. Feel free to post videos up of local bands that you or someone you know play in.
  19. Looks like the shit we did at the station on July 4th. Tip of advice, never put 20 zips in a pop can...scary shit right there.
  20. Water & G2 Lemon Lime Gatorade. Oh, and a cherry Pepsi. That's what keeps me going when I'm running sound
  21. Dude, I was listening to that song yesterday. Lotta good memories about that song Too bad she was a whore. But like you said..doesn't matter, had sex.
  22. That made my night. Anyways, what's new? Freshman year, the new SS teacher was caught giving a senior a quickie in her car after prom, and IIRC they're still together Lucky bastard. Junior year, student teacher slept with a student. Ironically she got knocked up not long after that affair got busted. Nothing new. I hear a nearby teacher getting busted for sexting, boinking, or other sexual acts at least 2-3 times a year, if not more
