    It would be for rattles, re-attaching weather striping plastic on doors, filling cavities, it could be used for putting glass/plexi glass onto boxes/windows or whatever...there would endless amounts of uses.

    It would definetely be made of the same 100% American made butyl rubber as Damplifier/Damplifier Pro....keep up the great responses and I will get the info to Ken so we can come up with a new future product to help out the hard working builders out there

    Quick Survey For All You Sound Deadening Customers out there. If Second Skin offered the same high quality 100% American made butyl rubber found in Damplifier/Damplifier Pro in a BUTYL ROPE and/or BUTYL CAULK form would it be of interest and use to all of you Do It Yourselfer's out there?     The high quality butyl rubber Second Skin uses is highly water resistant and once applied to a dry surface and bonded well it will keep water from penetrating. The butyl used in automotive windows which is highly waterproof is very similar to the quality butyl used in Second Skin Damplifier/Damplifier Pro. Thanks for the info from the other two members also, keep up the great work.

    The tricks the man above showed in the video, we have also heard of using a fire extinguisher to freeze and remove it. But Second Skin is designed to hold on for good....good luck with removing it and let us know if you find a method that works for you, plus side it won't out gas harmful vapors if you melt it off like this guy because there is no asphalt or crap fillers.

    Hoit, yeah we usually do something more separated than 3%, but our 20% off usually has a $350 minimum so all in all it's not too bad.     If you have water leaking into your hatch area you should find some sort of water tight product to stop this kind of leak. The tape you speak of is intended to stop the flow of air and heat not liquids. Also if you just use your deadener material to stop the sight of the water than it will start to become a bigger problem when the water is trapped underneath your deadener. Deadening products should not be used to stop liquid leaks, you are just asking for bigger problems by using deadeners to cover up known leaks. Even with our liquid deadeners we always suggest pre-treating the area with a rust inhibiting primer to keep the metal from rusting away from water issues. Good luck finding and eliminating the water leak.

    It is always better to use less quantity of a quality butyl rubber product then to use more quantity of a cheap asphalt product.
