  1. Indeed - you don't have to touch any controls at all on the slave amp.
  2. I don't suggest letting your voltage sag under 12 for extended periods of time - if it does that means your charging system is inadequate. It's pretty uncommon to see any issues above 11 even for long periods, though -- on burps into the 10s really won't hurt them. Many people running them in "street" with one battery drop them down like that frequently for burps without issues.
  3. Sounds like you will be just fine then
  4. The alternator is a bit small, IMO, to run 6000 watts continuously. It really depends on how you run your equipment - if you mainly listen to actual music that doesn't tend to approach 100% of the amplifier output potential then you will be fine with the 250-amp alternator. If you like to have the amps full blast at all times a 250-amp alternator won't cut it with 600 amps of current draw.
  5. Will offer bulk discounts... if someone wants to do like 16 of these I'll hook you up.
  6. Nice! James really did a great job on the box.

  8. Indeed, someone did a review here: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/showpo...mp;postcount=34 "Right now its running in my Alti off an 800prs + a Memphis line driver on the sub channel to an MTX 2300x. Initially I was very impressed with the tonality and the output. It played various notes with authority. It's meant to be crossed (at least in my application) at 80 hz, anything higher and I recieved a lil breakup in the output. I am reallllly enjoying these subs with all kinds of music, rock/rap/country. They are doing a great job! SQ: 8 Power handling: 9 LFE: 10 Output: 9 Build Quality: 10 Total: 46 These are just preliminary numbers, I will post more when I am done with a few weeks of listening time. They are DEFINATELY a competitor to the CMASS in overall sound and output! I am VERY impressed, especially at this price point."
  9. I test them up to ~175 watts free air before shipment - any subs that made unusual noises or acted funny failed QC inspection
  10. It may be a bit difficult to do a 140 out of a trunk with two 200-watt subs They like about 0.6 ft^3 each tuned anywhere from 30 - 40 Hz (I prefer closer to 30).
  11. I mean brand new drivers that failed QC and I am not selling. They will be receiving new moving assemblies. The issue is that some of them have lead slap - the next revision will have tied down leads so that is impossible no matter what. The ones that pass QC don't have lead slap under any condition, but the tied down leads eliminate assembly error as the tolerance for error on these drivers is VERY small from a perfect lead to one that slaps like crazy.
  12. Probably about the same on the repaired ones as the intro sale - which was $65 shipped. Once those are sold out they will eventually just become a normal item @ an MSRP of $85-90 each. I'm sure dealers will be happy to make deals on them for large purchases even then, though!
  13. More will become available once I get parts in to repair the ones the failed QC. I will also be building another run of several hundred as soon as I can... these were really extremely popular, more than I expected!
  14. Im hoping I have enough for you! I'm pretty specific on my QC requirements and not all of them pass, but I'll keep you updated.
  15. We tuned his to 32 hz in about that same volume Be sure to enable the subsonic filter tuned to 40 Hz, but damn, that'll be loud.
  16. IMO - the 1500 is plenty of power for them. It'll get pretty darn loud... we put 8 of these in my buddies car on an SAZ-1500D @ 1/2 ohm and it pounds.
  17. Hope the epoxy job on the spiders works out for ya too. A full 1/2 tube per driver.
  18. I packed em even more than the others I've shipped so far, extra layer of card board on 5 sides of the box - so they should be good.
  19. The 8s are SOLD OUT for now. Demand was pretty incredible for these... working on getting more as soon as I can, but I didn't expect so much demand so it will be a month or more.
  20. Some subs with really stiff spiders will crackle a bit for a few minutes while breaking in, but I've not noticed any adverse effects. I do the initial break-in on all the Nightshades prior to shipment.
  21. Chris has two more 3000D refurbished amps available right now - they are the only ones I know of for sale at this time.
  22. Not sure if / when that will happen - I can't keep them in stock as it is Chris @ dB-R.com does have some awesome deals on a couple of refurbished 3000Ds right now.
  23. Any more thoughts on the E8s now that you have had em a few days ?
