  1. It's pretty large - 3 slugs full 1" thickness x 9" diameter.
  2. *laughs* See, a little Chuck Norris humor and we can all get along! The lvl 5 is a sexy woofer.
  3. I don't think anyone told you that - in fact, you were told several times that listed pricing is MSRP and that you can speak with your dealer of choice on actual pricing. Of course, it doesn't seem as if you are actually interested in the product at all - and your only interest is to troll this thread.
  4. Less than MSRP on Digital Designs products - I believe they are actually priced nearer to the 3500s as I know that the 9515 had an MSRP of $749 last time I checked. Try contacting a dealer for pricing - like DD, Sundown has authorized dealers and advertised pricing is MSRP.
  5. I like the Chrome, if only because it matches the black / silver / black of the SAX and SAZ amps
  6. I was just reading somewhere today that running this amp at 1/2 ohm is not the best idea... and now I can't find the thread!
  7. Forevrbumpn, Even most USA made woofers are made from a high percentage of Chinese sourced components. Almost all magnets, steel parts, and baskets come from China. Some soft parts and coils still come from the USA, though. For bigger and higher power subs I like USA assembled drivers, it's easier to get a more robust glue job consistently done - which is why my Nightshade subs are assembled in the USA.
  8. So far so good. For most users I suggest tuning a bit higher, but for him it is exactly what he wanted. It's an EBS (extended bass shelf) alignment which has a relatively high F3, but with a shelving response that carries down to tuning sitting on the F3 line.
  9. That is not normal. Try a different strapping RCA cable.
  10. For 10kw I highly suggest more than one alternator if you intend to play it very long at maximum output levels. If you don't plan to actually listen to it utilizing the full 10kw you'll probably be alright with one large alternator - but I would do at least a couple Group-31 size AGM batteries. Running 12kw in my truck with dual powermaster 200-amp alts it drags down to battery voltage pretty rapidly at high volume.
  11. A time limit has not yet been set on this sale, you may have a chance!
  12. The sale has started: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=16576
  13. http://www.db-r.com/sell/store/index.php?productID=144 Chris has been authorized to sell refurbished SAX-100.4s at this special price until the 20th of April. Get em while they are available at that price!
  14. Alright guys -- I have noticed that the SAX-100.2 doesn't get the recognition it deserves online. My local dealers love the amp and they have sold most of them to folks that don't post online! So, in order to get some love for the SAX-100.2 online I am doing to do something that you won't see again for a long time. I am opening a special DIRECT sale on the SAX-100.2 model until April 20th! On to the fun part... the cost will be $200 shipped in the continental USA (PM me for Hawaii and Alaska). Yes, that is right. This is April 2nd and not an April Fools joke! To take advantage of this offer simply Paypal me at [email protected] -- or for an easy Paypal check-out go here: http://www.sundownaudio.com/SAX1002_Sale.html This comes with the FULL Sundown Audio warranty!
  15. Who would be interested in an SD-1 v.2 10" woofer sale? Much like the SAX-100.2 I am finding these under-appreciated and would like to see more out there! http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=14141 * Customer Review http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=11420 * Pics from prototyping http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=12478 * More information from the original pre-sale thread back in November 2007 http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...217&hl=sd-1 * Production model pictures
  16. People ask me about a larger amp fairly often... and the short answer is that it's not a high priority. Eventually a larger amp will be introduced but I'm working on expanding the "smaller" amps first - they are better sellers and cater to the needs of more people.
  17. His primary goal was to move a bunch of air and hit low, hence the VERY low tuning frequency. I think it turned out nicely for the goal
  18. Indeed, we are going to try it anyway! A few layers of Second Skin Damplifier should take down the rattles a good bit, IMO.
  19. I have a proto and have been doing testing on it. Since I don't have a good ETA I really haven't been talking about it
  20. I told him he isn't allowed to put anything bigger than a 1500D in there until we get the alts on. The 1500D will cause the Bronco to shut off if he plays it too much at idle *laughs* The alternator is incredibly small stock.
  21. No problem. I will most certainly post as soon as I know the date for release!
  22. This Bronco belongs to my good friend, Brandon. So far only a single SAZ-1500D for power @ 1.33 ohms, single run 4 awg power wire, stock alt, one Powermaster D3100! Coming soon... dual alternators and two SAZ-3000Ds! This box is tuned to the mid 20s and was made for daily low-bass pounding His goal is to bass-race with it and not to generate peak scores, what class is to be determined once we see how the scores are with more power. Videos: * Playing 20 Hz * Playing Music The compressed videos don't quite get across the level of flex, but you can get a general idea.
