  1. Non-Working as-is ? Or re-coned ?
  2. I'm sure it could be done -- I don't like making 10s that stiff, though.
  3. I've got three different surrounds for 10s in stock -- various qualities depending on what the user wants from them.
  4. I don't suggest running any amp at 0.25 daily on music for any reason.
  5. I had one years ago - a black one - sweet amp.
  6. Our new FedEx rep was a good sport and got a short demo. 12x Obsidian Audio 12s 2x SAZ-4500Ds on 16v @ 1.33 ohms We forgot to have the low-tuned loading wall in -- so hair movement not as good as it could be but our rep enjoyed it !
  7. I haven't heard the XXX in so long... honestly couldn't offer an accurate comparison by any means. Going off what I know about the design of both the XXX is going to beat these up below 80 Hz for sure... in the upper mid-bass region I'm not so sure the XXX could keep up (eg: 90-120) -- if you are crossing really low I'd stick with something like the XXX or a very high displacement driver.
  8. We put a set in a customers car today and they are stupid loud... awesome mid-bass output as well; I was actually pretty stunned by how much they were putting out. We have about 200 RMS rated per side on them and 200 RMS rated on a set of Selenium ST-350 tweeters; two bridged (8 ohms bridged per pair of channels) 4-channel full-range Class-D prototype amps (no ETA, no price, don't ask, *laughs*).
  9. The 6.5" is NOT yet available... just testing the sample. Very smooth measured response on these... can cross as high as 4-5k for tweeters that don't like much mid-range output. Measured open baffle -- in a baffle low-end would increase on all of them but you can see the trend as the very deepest bottom end increases as you go up in size and the top-end increases as you go down in size.
  10. Production should be wrapping up August 25th so by the time containers are loaded and they arrive to my door we are looking at the third or fourth week of September to arrive here (last container took ~30 days from sailing to arrive at our shop) -- so all is looking good.
  11. Interestingly enough it's more like 99% on most speakers -- not many bass speakers get over 1% efficient.
  12. If you are looking for a good deal and looking at Sundown check this thread : http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/10634-used-b-stock-refurbished-amps-and-misc/
  13. All SA-8 pre-orders have shipped.
  14. We no longer produce the 2000D but the data is part of a sticky thread on our forum : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/50753-sundown-amp-clamp-tests/
  15. In reality it's hard to get a grasp on what an amp can do just eye-balling it; you can often get a "idea" based on the number of transistors but then you also need to know what kind they are and what kind of voltage goes into them (the 4500 runs more voltage into the transistors than the 3500s). Not to mention the power supply side of the amp.
  16. No, I would not consider a direct model for Sundown Audio. We have been and always will be a dealer based company. It may not seem like it as forum users but the net' is a small percentage of the total market.
  17. As far as pricing; AQ is a direct sales company and Sundown is a dealer based company. If you want to ask serious questions that is fine - if this is a "this is like that but cheaper thread" I will close it.
  18. The revised AQ-3500D.1 performs more like our 3500D than the old one; it is not to be compared to a 4500D (which is significantly more powerful than either of the aforementioned). The rest of the 4500D amp is significantly different; output transistor count is not the ONLY aspect of an amp to look at but is a quick one to note when comparing the DC-3.5k board to the SAZ-3500D board.
  19. We no longer produce the 4500D; DC and Crescendo both make amps like it now. AQ no longer makes their original 3500D; DC and Crescendo both make amps like it now. I haven't really looked closely at the DC, AQ, and CA 2000-watt level amps. As for our current lines; SAX-1200D, SAZ-1500Dv.2, SAZ-2500D, SAZ-3500D, and upcoming NS-1 they are unique to Sundown.
  20. so its the round black things around the silver wire towards the middle of the board? so 6 of them are around the blue squares? "Rectangular" pieces attached to the heat-sink (aka: the case) -- they have 3 legs coming out of them and are along the board edges.
