  1. we need brand and model, what ohm load you are running, and is it really "red hot", if so then your metal is melting. If its in direct sunlight all day, sure its gonna be hot as hell. more info and/or pics would be nice so we can help
  2. Mine aren't ever extreme. One of my dad's friends made one by bundling 10 packages worth of aluminum sparklers together with electrical tape, then a layer of fiberglass. He put it in and old out house and it easily sent pieces flying over 50 feet. Very stupid, but fun to watch. and he used an extra long fuse.
  3. If you account for wood thickness 53.5 wide * 15.5 tall * [4+10/2]-wood=5.5 = 2.64 cubes, without acounting for port displacement, speaker displacement, and i dont know the mounting depth of the SSD's, but i'm giessing it will be close. May want to reconsider and use 2 instead
  4. thats what I thought too, I was told there was something to do with the propagation of the wave from different lengths and in different airspace, I dunno the technical garbage, but i've always seen it as SUV's have the advantage for SPL non wall. thanks accordman for clearing that up
  5. mines at 30 hz, if I was to do it again, I wouldn't change a thing. People around here guess that I have 2 15's from my low end output since it is so strong. my box peaks at 38hz and my car at 46 so between the two peaks sounds really good and the lows are pretty decent from some low power 12's. but if you want numbers, tune 35+.
  6. Depends on the rap in all honesty. If you want nasty lows, I would go with 32-33 hz. yummmm.... chopped and screwed songs
  7. Is this true? I did put the same box and amp [different electrical] from a ford taurus trunk with everythign facing the trunk, into an explorer with everything facing back and it was way louder. The mic measured a 1.6 db increase from the car to teh SUV. is this an anomily?
  8. ^^^^^he got it first Too short - I Like It ft Dolla Will
  9. I also had to alter by sub setp to get by clubs in my trunk with my box [not fun...] my systeam and clubs cost the exact same, but golf keeps adding on with green fees and range tokens, my car just needs gas and me. if you really want some fun, take a car with some decent subs and crank it up. With the acoustics of a golf course, the sound could literally cover a couple square miles. and be prepared to get un-invited quickly.....
  10. It can be found online for 5 dollars for a 60 inch wide yard. I just can't wait for the shipping time. It should use much less resin and be much better to get a freeform stretch [like the inside of a trunk]
  11. I was shopping at joans fabric today for some fleece for my next build. I ask what they had with the absorbtion of thin cotton, but the stretching properties of fleece. The lady showed me something called dancewear fabric. It stretches like spandex without major recoil, and is thin so it wont eat up resin. Its about 10.99 a yard and come 48 inches wide. I thought i would share this with you guys, in case anyone else wanted to try something new. [p.s. this new build i am fiberglassing either 4 10's or 3 12's in my friends 70 Monte Carlo and doing the entire trunk in a layer of fiberglass to even things out, then black crushed velvet. the trunk is enormous, easily 12 cubes if you use the trunk and wheel wells as the bottom of the box. but back on topic, search in google for dancewear fabric and give it a try.
  12. how many are left? how much for 4 shipped to 74112?
  13. mine is similar, but i have subs back and port through the fold down seats
  14. Power acoustik may be overrated, but even if its 20% inflated ratings it is still hard to beat for the price. I have had success with the gothic series in particular.
  15. depends which model, its really hit and miss
  16. I like "epiphany" by staind it sounds pretty good and "it's been awhile" Thanks guys, i'll keep looking
  17. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_6189_P...ik+A1800DB.html Unfortunately most of the Power Acoustik amps are sold out in this site You will need 900-1200 rms at either 4 or 1 ohms [look for amps with these specs] Planet audio is good too But as most would recommend, go one more check without subs and save for a more expensive amp. But if you can't live without beat, this will surely work for you
  18. What coils and what is your budget? under $300? $500? more info please
  19. I have always been a rap and hip hop person and heavy bass music, but my cousin said try this and I fell in love. I dont like all metallica songs, but I was wondering if anyone could reccomend some similar songs. I would describe it as a somewhat mellow guitar song and i'm not a fan of hardcore lyrics [screaming in the mic] The guitars just sounded so damn awesome and i was looking for more stuff like it. any help? also enter sandman sounds pretty good too [i'm looking for metallica intrumental versions as I type this]
  20. all that Plus either a router with circle attachment or the old fashioned jigsaw [gotta cut the circle somehow] I also used a countersunk drill bit before all my drywall screws [lots and lots]. Mostly, don't use shortcuts, if you mess up just get a new piece of wood, never settle for less than the original plan.
  21. s-saudio used the same song in a video, also slowed down. but I don't think it was the same file. pretty much anyone can slow down a song [no offense]
  22. daaayyyyymmmmnnn. looks loud to me. Good songs on the ipod too, A+
  23. I need to go to more car shows....
