Hows about another video
tonedeaf replied to Quin's topic in Member Videos - Host 'em & Post 'em! System Vids / Off Topic
Wow...just wow. The editing, the angles, all the shots your getting....seriously, I think Im in love. No shit, this may be the best sub video ive seen. Period. -
Whatever site says anything about china in the domain...yeah no. Along with that, the old rule of thumb, if it seems to good to be true it probably is. Next, if ANY website seems like its bullshit, just google: 'website name here' review In this example, I type in 'chinasprint.com review' First site that pulls up: Those are from the first site that pops up from my google: http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?t=135529 People are out to make money and will fuck whoever they can to get it. China has fakes for everything from calculators to full sized cars. Dont expect to pay absolutely bare minimum pricing for a legit piece. Simply put, it will not happen.

Exactly. Even a cheap little audiopipe amp costs minimum $150 for decent amount of power. This device will be cheaper than that without the threat of replacing it. If it saves you one set of shit speakers that cost you $60 dollars, you would have saved half of your investment and YOUR TIME. My times worth alot to me, as I dont have a ton of it free. Doing stupid things like fucking with blown equipment would piss me off. Saving just one piece of equipment in my eyes, is well worth the $140 or less for this device. No hassle, set it and forgot it. I also fuck with my stuff alot. Knowing I can always have a tool next to me to KNOW im not clipping, just would be an awesome feeling. And idk about you, but im always changing equipment and theres no decent installers around here but me. So when I turn a guys amp down to 2, guessing the shitty kenwood wont clip there, and I see him immediately turn it to 8...yeah, having that light that says DONT FUCKING MOVE ME MORE is a lifesaver.

Geez no beef my man, just bringing out valid point, many members on this forum have oscopes already? is there any buying motive for us? I've seen other people try to say this product will detect distortion before a oscope clips, saying this device is better? I was simply suggesting that using an oscope is a very valid way to set your gains and many of us have been doing it for years and when done properly I think it is more than accurate enough to not damage your equipment. I honestly wouldn't lower my gains if this device told me i was distorting while my oscope showed a clean signal. While a ton of people on the forums may have oscopes, I guarantee more members dont. If you like your oscope, sure, go ahead and use it instead, but many people cant tell a very slight square wave. Most are smart enough to realize 'Uh oh, the lights on'. Its simply a tool that is easier to know when your clipping, and is the fraction of the price of your average decent oscope, that most audio installers only use for checking gains anyways. This isnt meant to be better than an oscope, just an easier and faster way to check what in your setup is clipping, or what you can even turn up without the extra bells and whistles most people dont need. Its not an oscope vs SMD DD fight to the death.

^^ Im confused when I listen to it. Does he have to growl it at me for emphasis? He could be screaming about how much he loves his wife. 'So dude, is he pissed, or what...' 'I bet she beats him.' 'Yeah...'

Anything out there better than the SA-8?
tonedeaf replied to S Dime 420's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
More is almost always better...as long as the subs are getting the correct amount of air space. You may be on the wrong site. :pardon: -
just to be a smart ass...you could still be clipping even then but just further proves your post about saving your equipment. i am looking forward to this too True...if I was running boss or pyle I might be fucked. But I concede... so you are guessing at your gain setting on the amp, keeping it low and hoping for the best - which is sorta fine by 2010 standards......but do you know where your deck distorts? What about your EQ or your active crossover? Like pitubulls results, who knows, your system might just get louder and stay clean in the process after you set the amp and everything BEFORE IT properly that brings me to the subject of people that claim they can set their gain with some formula/chart and a dmm. Thats all fine and dandy, its still guessing IMO - but even if it is correct or close, good job! - but what about everything in front of it. Its worthless to set your amp and not know where the deck and processors are distorting. Thats my take on it Which is exactly my point. You NEED to be able to check everything, everyone just assumes its only amps. I just barely turn them up hoping that nothings clipping, but without a Oscope or this AMAZING little device, you have no idea really. Right now, im all guesswork with my settings. My EQs are flat on my HU and it never goes above 28/35 and my gains on all amps are turned hella low until I get such a device to test them. I still my be sending a dirty signal, which is why you should get that site up faster!! :peepwall: Send me your paypal and ill pay you for mine now. Tehe. Edit: Or even better, my 21st is this sunday. Early birthday present? Ill shoot you some crown and sprite for your troubles.

Landed another job
tonedeaf replied to hershy314's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
Who hires 15 year olds other than chick-fil-a? Most places around here lol... I got my first legitimate job when I was 14 I got my first legit job at 9 bailing hay for a local farm owner. 600 bucks a week wasnt a bad deal...if you consider a 'legit' job doing hard ass labor and getting paid cash money, then it counts. 600 think you passed it on the zeros bro Ummmm...what? :trippy: -

If the voiceover would have been better, id rate it an A. It gets a solid b- since some of the words actually seemed to match what he was saying. -
Ummm no. The original may have been less terrible.

POKEMON CARDS
tonedeaf replied to Hellbound Train's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
Oh. My. God. For like a week I was interested in the cards. Then my balls dropped I think. -
Type Rs in this case...they should still be cheaper imo, but meh. Buddy at work says hes running 2k a piece to his 15 Type Rs. DISCLAIMER: This is coming from the same guy who has 23s on his stock suspension on his oldsmobile type car(cant remember the name) and wanted to put my old kenwood 2 channel sub amp on his highs.

Anything under $200 is very worth possibly saving you thousands in equipment, or maybe even increased output. (I don't turn my amps gain past 1 or 2 so I know I am not clipping) Im subs to the topic and as soon as Meade posts the link to the site, my purchase will be made. Between the two reviews we've seen and simply the people behind this little thing, I am more than convinced.

Just like title says, looking for a 15" lvl 5 or XLs. If you are trying to get rid of a pair of 12"s, humor me with prices if they are cheap enough. Am also interested in DD 9515s if the price is competetive. Start posting!

I wouldnt say 'mess up' more so just theres too many outcomes for them to really know whats gonna happen. Theres a reason medicine is called a 'practice'. Theres no THIS IS WHAT IT WILL BE. It adapts. -
So any examples of false floors before I break down and build one today? Cars at the shop getting tinted right now, after I geter back, ima build a false floor, amp rack, and battery holder. Just looking for suggestions/examples before I go about doing it.
