Ok fine... I built a small 1 cubic foot 22 gauge steel box with a hinged lid. Once that was completed, I then took a rabid weasel and jammed that sucker in the box and shook it for a good 10 seconds. When the weasel was nice and pissed off, I took my dB meter and measured how loud it was. This was my baseline. I then repeated said test BUT with the sound deadened material applied to the box, making sure to hold the dB meter the same distance from it each and every time... Prove me wrong... Why do we do the same tests? Except I used a savage child.

You could probably fit 6, but with a big enough box doubt you could fit many more.

No worries dude...your main thing is read, then read, then read some more. I was on this site reading for well over a year before I actually made an account. The more you read and learn the less mistakes you have to make in the end to get it all right.

Use a DMM. Or know what coil config your subs are and how they are wired. Parallel cuts impedance in half, series doubles impedance. 2 4 ohm SVC subs can be wired to 2 or 8 ohms.

'Clean' power means not clipping. Google or search here on SMD what clipping is. Clipping = distortion, also known as dirty power.

Seems small to me and skimping on the port area for sure. Last I heard these things like around 17-19 per.

Use enough glue and fiberglass isnt necessary. Ude either 3/8" all thread or 1/2" dowel rods for bracing for strength. 3/4" MDF is fine, id do a second baffle though.

IIRC these things like alot of port, so this is what ive got for you. 20Hx36Wx32D with a port (3 common port walls) 18.5Hx7.5Wx28L. Gives you almost 140 inches of port. 17.9 per cube. 7.76 after displacement with 34 hz tuning. Any bracing you do will slightly jump up your port and rise your tuning, but you should still be able to play low just fine. My cut sheet: Top/bottom: 36"x32" Sides: 18.5"x30.5" Front/Back: 36"x18.5" Port 1: 18.5"x23" Port 2: 18.5"4.25"

Just a warning though, make sure you send these things clean power or you will blow them. As you will with any sub.

No, you answered him right, but he is over-thinking it on the bold part I fixed. He doesnt have to worry about that as long as he uses the cut sheets as I already put that into the dimensions. 15.75", then the second is 8.75". If they are put together like an 'L', then the space is already fixed. The second piece (8.75") should be on the inside face of the first port piece. (15.75") (this is probably just going to confuse him more...) LOL

Yeah, plugged his dimensions in...dude thats a box id make for a 10". In fact, id probably make it bigger...

What super said...the 1.5 is just what was taken away from the dimensions because thats the thickness of the wood.

Wow, totally missed that too...I guess I assumed per. .25 per sub = doubtful though. Not sure how big those mtx are though.

Sounds like you're talking in circles in this post and its still very vague. How do you have 5200 posts and not know how to build a box? You probably dont have near enough port and are choking them out. With too little port its basically like having a sealed box with a leak in it. Give port dimensions and ill see whats up.

If the length isnt right, yes it will effect tuning. If its an 1/8" too short, you wont notice anything. Just try to be as exact as you can with your measurements and cuts.

Kind of a dumb question bud...you want everything to be as accurate as it can be...
