Ain't no way I could weld that thin of a cable....think of the inside of a pen, the part that holds the ink.....it's that thin. And it's really small pieces wound together. I may be able to get some scrap wire fix it. But I'm sure I could get the replacement piece from a store for pretty cheap. It's only about a foot and a half long, if that.

Sheeeeeet.....I can't get no aircraft cable up here. At least not that I know of anyway. I'm gonna try to get it fixed this week. I'll let ya'll know how much and what all was involved in fixing it in case anyone else ever has the same problem.

I spent all the cash I had saved up for christmas on my wife for our anniversary back in Oct. All I got for christmas was 2 shirts, a hat, and a belt. We spent everything else on our daughter. She got close to $650 in baby toys, clothes, and a savings bond. Spoiled brat....LoL.

I don't recall a quadrajet ever being that small, but I could be wrong. I still think it's throwing your air/fuel ratio way off and running too rich. I have no idea how to tune a quad, so I would say try to find someone with either an Edlebrock 650 or a Holley 650, borrow it, and see what changes. Also see if they can tell you what size your current carb really is. I can look it up by a number on the carb using a Haynes manual. Check the carb and give me all the numbers on it and I'll see what I can come up with. If it works out to be fine by using either one of those carbs, get one. Edlebrocks are great for street use, but if you plan or doing any kind of racing, ever, go with a Holley.

Even if it's off an 86 I think it's still bigger then a 650. I think it's just running to rich and the A/F ratio off a bit and that's why it wont run correctly. I thought 85 is when GM introduced TBI to most of their cars...My mom had an 86 K-5 Blazer and it had TBI.

Alright, thanks guys. Since it snapped behind the pedal, I don't think I'll have to take the pedal off itself. I was looking at it earlier, and I may just be able to crimp another piece of wire to it and make it work.

If you get the book from the MECP site, it should take about a week to get to you. I can't remember how much shipping was, if any, but it ain't that much. Maybe $35 total.
