    I have the Reverse signal wire from deck going into the reverse wire for car. you could wire it to that. or just tap into the light if you dont want to run the wire all the way up.

    wire the red to your reverse lights. that way it comes on when you shift into reverse.

    it makes a difference on mine.

    the eq will be under settings. mines off when in the truck and on jazz when i have my headphones on. i have the same ipod as you.
