  1. Anything that's positive on an Alpine headunuit is the bass or treble. We are talking about the subwoofer level which has a range of 0 through 15, whereas the bass function has a range of -7 through +7. Setting the subwoofer level up to 15/15 should not induce clipping whereas turning the bass above 0/7 would.
  2. If you want suggestions we need goals, space, and a budget.....
  3. SAZ-4500D definitely, If you don't know the answer yourself then maybe you shouldn't be running DD9515's, they are an expensive driver and so will be everything else needed to run that set up daily. I just don't like to see people spend lots of money breaking expensive equipment because of sheer ignorance. I'm not trying to be a dick but I think the answer should be pretty obvious man, those 9515's are gonna eat that 4500D up and laugh at it (:
  4. Yeah I forgot to mention the SSA line of subs too, they make great "SQL" subs.
  5. +1 on the Crescendo 2k And why is everyone suggesting two sub set ups? Great results can be achieved with 15 and 18" subs, I am not sure how big the trunk is of a Malibu but I'm sure a DC audio level 3 15, Skar audio 15, SA-15, or Obsidian 15 would sound great and save him some cash.
  6. there are different ways to tune a 4th order. You can do it the way your describing it where you get a small range of Frequency response, and you can peak very well for competition. BUT if they are tuned right They can give a wider stronger response than a ported box. They are normally very efficient, if built right that is. x2
  7. I'm all for wiring amplifiers to 0.5 ohm but I would not recommend wiring that RF amp to 0.5
  8. Nope, but..... http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae4/CrescendoAudio/CLAMP42111.png
  9. x2 on AQ amps. BTW AQ, DC, and Crescendo amps are all made in South Korea (:
  10. From everyone I talked to they are $899 shipped, can't beat that with a stick!
  11. Take a look at what the new Crescendo BC line of amps has to offer, I am going to be picking up two of their BC5500's. I never tried them yet, but from what I saw definitely the best power for the money
  12. Winner winner chicken dinner! Taking an amp from 3ohm (guessing 75A of draw on your charging system) down to 1ohm (upwards of 200A or the fuse rating on the amp) is what you are noticing. Big3 Big3 Big3 -Drew so what is my prize OP you asked what was the point on subsonic filter? well the filter is there so you wont play anything under port tuning, am i right guys? This will depend on a lot of variables relative to the electromechanical qualities of the driver and the performance of the enclosure which will determine where the driver will start to unload in the enclosure. For example: I have an IA Warden 12 in a two cubic foot NET enclosure tuned to 36 hertz. I can play down to 30 hertz with authority, but there is a sharp roll off in output in any frequency played below 30 hertz and I unload at 28 hertz (pressure against the cone is lost). I didn't really test it but the f3 (-3db point) for my enclosure is probably about 31 hertz. Setting your subsonic filter is really up to you, you could either set it at a little bit below the f3 of the driver or you could set it at whatever frequency you start unloading (probably not too ungodly far away from where the f3 is, but some people can play considerably below their f3 and still not unload). Sorry for kinda threadjacking, but for the OP: Get that big 3 done and then let us know if it helped!
  13. Not trying to hate and/or I could be wrong, but something tells me if you don't know the reasoning/answer to the original question you asked you should probably try playing with a little smaller of a system before going so big. The equipment you mentioned is going to cost a lot of money and is gonna be costly to replace when/if you break it by not knowing how to set everything up properly. I'm not sure if this is your first system or what, I am just trying to help out. When I started out I had no idea what the heck I was doing and I did ALOT of No no's that I just shake my head about now when I look back at it. I mean blasting my system with the car off, turning the gain all the way up, getting the amp SO HOT, SO MUCH CLIPPING, etc.
  14. I basically am the source. I asked Navid directly when I saw this post. He gave me the response I posted above to copy paste. Well that answers that then! Is Navid the owner of Crescendo? yes Thanks Freshman, I believe that should answer everyone's questions then! Thanks Owners!

  16. I was unaware they had their own section on CACO, thanks!
  17. Thanks! Damn I didn't know you ran them!
  18. I keep hearing the same thing....I'm pretty sure the person who told me they were made in china just lied to try and sell me a DC audio amplifier. It was no one from this forum that told me this.
  19. Where are the new Crescendo amplifiers bass cleft (bc) line made at? I heard they were made at the same factory as AQ and DC in Korea.... Then I also heard they were made in China..... I don't know about you guys but knowing where they are made definitely changes my decision of whether to go with them or not. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks SMD
  20. Im trying not to go over $350-400 on speakers. I sold my 3k amp so Im using an old school Audiobahn A12001DT amp for now. It does 1200rms at 1ohm so I dont wanna get something it wont push or will blow up lol DC audio subs are great for what you want, but some other great subs would be ssa, obsidian, sundown, etc.
  21. I would love to see how you are gonna sufficiently supply those 2 9ks......unless you plan on running them at like 2 ohms each
